I can't speak for others with absolute certainty, but when I make wallpapers that have this level of visual 3D, I use 3D Studio Max. While I am sure it could be done with a program like Photoshop or PSP, it would just be easier with 3D rendering software. That doesn't mean you have to pay alot of money on one, I believe that Blender is one that you can download for free(I wouldn't know where to get it, so try a google search). Actually I was going to mention Axialis myself. You know, if your up to it and willing to pay the money - you could always buy the Axialis software and use it to render out win98 icons from the XP versions. Axialis's program actually does most the work for you, but you do have to do some tweaking to get it just right.

Actually scientest say that while men do have emotions - they can never be as intense as a womens because of the fact that women have a larger more evolved emotion center in their brain. Personally I would like to see some good DX designs. I am not saying that they all look bad, but I have yet to see someone create one that has a good balance of design and art! They are usually shining examples of art and poor design! They either possess to much or to little fuctional components!

First off I wouldn't worry about keeping it connected all the time, the batteries used in laptops of recent years hold up pretty good. I don't know of any that are free but if you do want to encrypt a file or folder that will even make a hacker cringe, make sure that the program you get uses the Blowfish encryption method. Its probably the best encryption method commercially available.

If you bought the Object Desktop package - then understand that the component manager gives you a list of all the software that is available to you. By default this usually means that only the latest software they have should be shown, but sometimes there are duplicates, in which case you have to look at the version # which is right next to it.

You know, now that I think of it, I do believe that I have heard of BootVis. I thought that program was for developers to use for tracing errors during boot-up and system resumes. I think and don't quote me on this, but wasn't some of the algorythms from BootVis built into XP for the purpose of providing house-keeping tasks, to aid XP in decreasing boot time.

It probably could be a viable technology if it were provided with a region stamp that could corrilate with your home area. But I have to wonder, and I am not trying to cruel, whether anyone would take the two seconds to look at it! With MRAM, the people at MIT are hoping to decrease boot time by storing system resources only in the MRAM at time of shut-off, so upon boot-up your system would be fresh but also almost immediate. You are right though - I am sure Microsoft will find some way to screw that up!

I mean - maybe - if we were talking about an ultra scsi, then maybe I could understand, but there is no way that you would pay $155 for a 20gig hard drive! But thats besides the point - get one. And as for running XP on your machine, not with a 3.9GIG hard drive you aint! I would also say about a minute and a half. I have just so many resources that I unfortunately have to have. I will sure be happy when those guys at MIT complete their MRAM research! According MRAM research department MRAM will be as fast as conventional RAM but will be capable of holding information even when the computer is off. You could say that it would be like Flash memory, only without the drawbacks!

Unless you specify where you want those files to go - it will be sent to the default location on your computer. Now for desktop skins, this will usually be sent to the windowblinds folder. In truth I can honestly say that I have never kept any computer I have ever owned on longer than a week. As for warm boots, I consider it absolutely neccessary to do so at least every 24 hours.
