I've decided to focus on the useful stuff. The things that I do not mention are not necessarily useless, but I personally would consider them less cost-effective and worthwhile than the items mentioned below. Favor Items: 1. Swift Anklet: The 15% speed boost is good by itself, but combined with Boots of Speed or the speed abilities of certain demigods (e.g., Sedna and UB), it can be shockingly effective. 2. Blood of the Fallen: Enough said.

So there's my 2 cents, even with an unlimited budget I would have been against having more than 16 demigods in the base game (I could imagine an additional 16 being "unlocked" with favor points but that's a different topic).
I think that an ultimate number of 16 demigods (8 dark/8 light) is a good solid number as w

I finally managed to do that around the middle of the game on my last try and more ogres were just pouring in from the west. Plus I still can't tell if towers are worth it. The 300g flat upgrade cost is very nice, but even 4 placed next to each other can't repel a dedicated ogre attack unless your heroes happen to already be there by coincidence. I just get pulled i

Nice work, Ptarch. This will be a very useful mod, especially to people new to the game. Man, I am really impressed with how the modders are stepping up to the plate--even before GPG/Stardock provides any sort of official modding support!

The "Player notes" option is, well, ingenious. Thanks for the update, Frogboy.

The game needs visible, in-lobby stats; a random-teams option; and, of course, new content. I think that the 2 new demigods and favor items might revitalize things a bit, but boy am I tired of Cataract. On the bright side, it appears that Stardock might provide solid m

Actually, an early kill usually gets everyone's attention and makes many players more cautious. I have had many allies immediately apologize for giving up a first kill and then play pretty well afterward. Thus, in my experience, the first kill hardly determines who will win a team match--unless your just-killed ally decides

I agree. MOO2 is a classic, which I do not think has been surpassed in the 4x genre. However, I believe that the first MOO was even better and more groundbreaking, though not as visually appealing. MOO2, while it allowed for solar systems (and not just individual planets), hero units, and racial customization, had a few limitations that annoyed me. The biggest was the whole upkeep system which drastically reduced the size of your fleet as compared to MOO. I haven'

@dumpweed As TheTrav suggested in the post just above yours, the argument is not really about premade teams (although sometimes it seems that way). The issue is more about people being able to play on balanced teams and being assured that they are playing against similarly experienced players. It's a problem of access to information more than anything else. If this game had visible, in-game win-loss stats, that would quiet 95% of the griping regarding prema

I like many of StAcK3D_ActR 's "noncontroversial" suggestions, like in-game clock, health bars, and better spell/item descriptions. I would add: 1. I think even Frogboy realized this with his earlier suggestion on a tweak to the Connections window that would help identifying organized teams. Randomized teams are another option, though that can lead to teams with duplicate demigods, which not everyone likes.
