...Starcraft 2 was the one which seems to have got this ball rolling...
I just wanted to correct this: it was Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 that started this trend of charging as much as you possibly can, and keeping the title at release price until the next title in the series is out. You can thank Activision for making this a trend.

And I don't have to play it, I know exactly how it will play: it'll be a poor mix of generic run-and-gun gameplay with selectable ammo types, and under-developed 'Ability' upgrade mechanics that serve more as dot points on the back of the box than as gameplay expanding tools. <br

If Duke Nukem stays true to it's roots and is simply a damn good Shoot 'Em Up (remember when we called FPS that?) that is a blast (no pun intended) to play, I'll purchase it. If it's a generic, watered down shooter that tries to be Half-Life and ends up the sequel to Diakatana, then obviously I won't.

Wow. Annualising Bioshock. I expected them to at least call it something different. Bioshock stood on it's own merits and became a very successful IP because it was simply good. Bioshock 2 cashed in on that, and delivered a bit of an encore. Not essential, but not terrible to the point of burning the franchise to ground... or tying balloons to it and floating it into the fucking sky, either. Bioshock 4: Modern Warfare Bioshock 3DS Bi

An interesting article on IGN claims that, apparently, Duke Nukem Forever may not be cancelled after-all, and has been handed to Gearbox - the creators of Borderlands - to complete. After hearing of the demise of the-now-comical Duke Nukem Forever, I have to admit I was a little sad that I'd never get my hands on what has become the longest serving tradition in gaming history - waiting for the Duke.

Those games are fun because of the mechanics of the game. For example, Resident Evil 4 is simply fun to play. The situations never really alter, you're simply doing the same thing for 20 hours - but it holds up, because of it's mechanics. Same for Ninja Gaiden, playing the game is simply fun. This, however, simply doesn't have that 'it looks fun' rather only 'it looks explosion-y'. Hopefully they release a demo prior to it's release, but it just doesn't hold my a

I think it's fine, personally, however obviously I can't speak for everyone. Could Bara add to his already long 'To Do' list the ability for a user to set a preferred background and text colour in their Account settings? Obviously this will create clashes with the overall design of the site(s) - however it should be up to a user to determine what is or is not best for them. On a side note: does Elemental's site's colour scheme changes reflect the in-game UI change

I've finished the single player campaign for my friend, and used one his seven hour guest passes, and I was honestly fairly disappointed. Unlike Blizzard's other sequels, which expand upon the original (Diablo II was essentially just Diablo, but with a lot more in it and really polished) this really is just a fresh coat of paint for the original and a higher price tag. I dominated my seven hours of multiplayer using strats that worked in Starcraft 1. There a

I believe Annatar has summed it all up perfectly. The gameplay is fast and addictive, and very fun. The level of polish in Starcraft II is also something that really needs to be seen to be understood. I recommend taking a trip to YouTube, it's filling up with hours upon hours of Starcraft II gameplay footage. One thing to be noted is that the game's online component is segmented into geographical regions. These regions are restrictive of all online component
