Object Desktop is available for $49.99 and can be downloaded at www.objectdesktop.com . A good company would make it clear to possible customers that most of the products will not work with Windows 1

I recently upgraded from Window 8 up to Windows 8.1 update. Now Bluetooth does not work. According to my Laptop, all bluetooth drivers are working ok. Anyone else having problems ? [e digicons]>:([/e]
Oops! seems to be a problem. If I click on the blank window the image does appear ??? [e digicons]8|[/e]

Best way I can explain is by saying, when you turn your computer on, without doing anything else, I call that the desktop. With Windows 8, you just see a set of boring tiles. With windows 7, you see a lovingly created scene with all your bits and pieces of customization. I know which one I prefer. [e digicons]*_*[/e]
Oops, damn predictive texting, I meant Uvah - Sorry.
Utah, It's certainly worth more than a windows 8 disc ! [e digicons][/e]
Lightstar, yes, I agree the windows will look the same, it's the actual desktop I'm referring to. With windows 8, you cannot even have a decent wallpaper unless it's obliterated by the 'tiles'.
RedneckDude, you say you do your skinning on 8.1 but is that used on 8.1 or 7 ? I still have not seen a Windows 8 customised desktop. Do you know of any?
Sorry but not anymore, only for my own amusement. [e digicons]:([/e]
As some of you will know, I am not without a certain knowledge of customising. I am now wondering if it is worth continuing to do so if the Windows 8 set up remains similar to it's present state, that is with irregular rectangles covering the whole desktop. I can see there may be some use if you are using a touch screen, although with a computer, I fail to see how this is of any use whatsoever. Also, the apps for Windows 8 are the worst I have seen! Windows 8 is Apple'
OK, so Windows 8 does not suit everyone but I think the main problem with it is that it is designed for a touchscreen computer or laptop. Mac have tried this in the past and Steve Jobs pointed out that it was not practical. The fact that people want a Start menu seems to back this fact up. It would be interesting to know how many people have or would want a touchscreen apart from the tablets.
"I’m going to write more about this shortly but having had my iPad for about 3 weeks I have to say that the iPad and other devices like it are going to murder large sections of the Windows based market." this is true! Windows 8 now even more difficult to customize whilst the iPad is getting easier to customize with the advent of Cydia Winterboard. Animated Start screens, weather widgets, icon control etc. check it out on Google!
I know this site is mainly used for Windows customization but for those out there with an iPad as well as a Windows set-up, did you know that the iPad can also be customised in many ways. You can check this out if you Google Cydia or Winterboard and you might want to check out the link below for more info: http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=Fy6tG2cWerc&am
I take it that there is now a Start menu option that works with Windows 7?

Did you know that you can customize sites like Facebook, Utube, Google and even Wincustomize by downloading two add-ons for Firefox. Loads of themes to choose from and they can be applied with a single click of the mouse. Only one for Wincustomize so far but others should follow. The one on offer is a dark theme. I've tried to download IconDeveloper using Impulse but I keep getting an error message. Everything downloads OK. Anyone know if there are any issues here ?
Just my opinion : DX Player - When compared with Xion it is very poor. Not changed much since day one. Weather - Since the issuue we had I just use a Firefox add-on. Clock and calendar - Already on the Windows 7 taskbar. Just click it to expand to a fully featured object. Menus - Just add the programs to the Taskbar and folders to the expanding explorer feature. Meters and gauges - Never use them. Animations - Limited use. This said, wha
Settings - Seems to have disapeared !?
Actually - I prefer the standard Windows 7 taskbar. [e digicons]|-)[/e]

If I click on 'My site' then 'My settings', I just get an error : The resource cannot be found. Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for ( or one of it's dependencies ), could have been removed, had it's
It seems that I am already logged on in the forums but not on the homepage of the site. I didn't think that I could be logged on in the forums whilst being logged off on the homepage! This happens both with Firefox and IE7
Just to confirm: I am using Windows 7 64 bit. I can log onto the old site no problem but not the new site. Could any Admin please confirm if this is being looked into or not. There seems to be quite a few people with the same problem.
