I hate the notion of having to learn Spanish because a larger population of America speaks it as their first language. This might be rooted in my extreme dislike of illegal immigrants. My parents did things legally to come to America and it took them 15 years, so I especially think the idea of accomodating people that decided to cheat the system is frankly, bull****. I may sound like a cold person, but that's my opinion on that specific issue.

Brad - looks like you guys are having a blast there which must be a nice break from everything else :) ...Don't mean to hijack your post at all, but this is something I sent to your e-mail a few times but probably just got deleted b/c you get so much mail. But I think the only way to get a question to you would be to post somewhere you don't get overloaded with alot of noise (though this is probably noise too considering the post topic...). I understand if you'd want to delete thi
This game sounds interesting. A few questions though. 1. Is the 'assassin' class just a general term and not meaning that playing in action-rpg mode means the character is an assassin character in the tradition RPG sense (rogue)? 2. If you play as the assassin class, does the AI take over duties as the general and hire units to assist the assassin class?
Frogboy, Ah ok, thanks for clearing that up! I've been the guy peskering you about AI and AI development (rattasak ). I had thought that might be the case since SD is probably alot bigger now than back in ~05-06 when we talked about the AI in GC. Cheers, Rattasak
Frogboy, Quick question, does the bwardell email at your company's domainname (trying to avoid typing out your email here in case of spambots and crawlers) (that is, stardock) work? Just been trying to get through (with some technical questions and other things) there with no luck I think.
I noticed in the 1.1 history, it mentions that the unused social production goes into military production now. However, does the unused military production(if there is any) still go into the treasury as planned? I see no mention of this, but I remember it being thrown around as a feature that would also be implemented in 1.1.
I'm curious as to the implementation of the AI in galciv2. From what I gather, you were the lead AI dev on the game. Is the AI in galciv2 a gigantic and extremely detailed state machine implementation? That seems to be the most common method/foundation of AI in games these days, but the AI in galciv seems to act really "human-like". Were you just able to take into account a huge amount of possible inputs/factors into the equation and make sure to c
Ah ok, thanks for the answers everyone. It helped clear up some confusion I had playing the game. I didn't realize there was a wiki for the game. I'll check that out also to see how much content is on there that might explain some other things I had questions about.
Not sure if this should go to the bug report section b/c I dont know if its a bug or me not understanding some concept of galciv2. When I start a new game (non-campaign), and click on earth, the spending lists teh cost of bc being spent to produce mp and tp. And maintenance is just that, the maintenance cost of buildings on the planet. However, when I click on another planet that I colonized, the spending value is the sum of bc spent to produce mp and
Three questions here: Not sure if this should go to the bug report section b/c I dont know if its a bug or me not understanding some concept of galciv2.
