Glad to hear Pantheon is getting some attention. I have a couple of (semi-technical) questions. Isn't there a good chance that the scenario that ends up in a 2v1 game is as a result of a player's poor connection rather than a failure in the match-making system? What about the scenario where you sit at the "Waiting for Players" screen when loading the map and after a good amount of waiting (5-10 minutes) a bunch of players are disconneted (1-2 in my experience, of a po

@ZehDos: Good explanation of the difference between client/server and p2p.
It's not just your connection - bare-bones direct Peer 2 Peer is a horrible way of doing multiplayer in today's online world with a thousand different modem and router and gateway brands, ISPs and all the other junk with makes connecting a nightmare. I revisited an old post of Frogboy 's where he discussed the bandwidth requirements and see that I've got my facts wrong. He suggested a 120kbps connection for 3v3 . Could you pass comment on the accuracy of SetarcosNous ' "shot in the dark" above as well as Dead Ghost 's question regarding future plans? <p

I didn't know if this is a problem report or tech support issue, so I'm just posting it here since I'm pretty sure of what's going on. I'll be more than happy to get in touch with tech support and give them as much information on my situation as they request if it'll help resolve the issue. The slowest ADSL available in my country has syncspeeds of 384kbps down and 128kbps up. That's my 'broadband' Internet connection for the time being. It's entry level but it's what I can afford. I'
Once we do that, we’re going to seriously evaluate whether to just have it proxy by default (right now, it only uses proxy servers if you set /serverproxyonly as a parameter in the short-cut) since people are reporting that proxies largely eliminate connectivity for people who have problems.
I've seen the proxies used by people that I'm pretty sure didn't set that flag. It seems the RSS feeds for the Demigod Multiplayer and Demigod Ideas subforums aren't working. When you click the RSS feed button Feedburner presents you with a 404 page. General and Journals seem to work fine, though.

Since most people seem to be responding to point 5 I'm going to start with that. I'm going to respond to point 6 afterward as well. There are some good suggestions in this thread that I'd like to re-iterate. First and foremost connectivity needs to be addressed. I've yet to play 1.01 (patching now), so it might be stacks better already. 1.

Performance and skill ratings are a good idea. As for karma:
-1 Karma for leaving the game early +1 Karma for winning a game +3 Karma for losing a game. Really, what you need to do is reward players for sticking it out. Can't just award completed games, because most people will stay in for a game they're winning, thats not really all that impressive. Most people you'd want to play with will stick

Cool, thanks for the info. Now we just need to find out what happened to the Australian, UK, German, and South African releases (those are the the retail releases that have been reported delayed on these forums and Amazon).

I'm creating a new thread for this because I don't know if Stardock staff return to threads if questions are considered anwered. It's likely there was a misunderstanding when I previously asked my question. I realised I phrased it pretty confusingly. The international retail release was slated for 15 May 2009 (today). By all accounts, that's not happened. According to both Amazon Germany and UK, as well as my local retailers, Demigod will only be released at retail internationally (or

OK, there's a handful of us wondering about this and today's the day for the release Frogboy says is happening in Europe and Asia. If we don't hear anything soon I'll start a new thread... Perhaps the Stardock support guys on these forums don't revisit topics they think they've addressed.
