I think Atari (right?) are responsible for European distrubition of the game so you'll prob only recieve the boxed version of the game at the Europe release date. Unless of course Stardock themselves are sending out the boxed versions for people who pre-ordered.... ^What he said above, ignore this lol.

There are lots of really complicated mathematical forumlas to explain it...but basically i dont understand it and its really complicated so ill give you a rough explanation: Player X has 1000 points Player Y has 1000 points Player X wins vs Player Y...Ratings will now roughly look something like this Player X has 1010 points Player Y has 990 points now imagine Player X (now on 1050) plays a noob who has a rating of 100 (player Z). Player X plays
How does seeing your HP total constantly on your Hp bar with a % regen total give a major advantage? I could sit there with a calculator and work that out.... But thats lame.
Because it means you get to a view your % regen total in a split second, whereas I have to sit there with a calcuator to work it out which gives you an advantage. I never said a "major" advantage but its still an advantage. And there could be lots of other u.i mods that give bigger ad

Im in the UK but I got a digital copy so should be able to play retail on the 13th :) If you have the box version can you still download it before you get the box too?

6 Replies 4,080 Views

Hopefully modding will be do-able in the retail versoin. But doesnt it give you an unfair advantage if you can see more stats than your enemy because of a mod? (if your playing online).

Public Announcement: I took off my AC tag so people can quote me now..haha :P
I disagree, I like the game more when the creeps are noticeable and not just walking cash troves to be slaughtered en-masse.
I never felt creeps were like that. At the very start creeps are not noticeable at all. But as the game goes on and on, creeps become more and more important, and can/will eventually in you the game. I have won games when Iam about 5 levels lower than

So what do you guys think is the best way to determine rankings on the ladder? Should it be the win/loss ratio? Most experience? Most Favour Points? ELO System? And question to Devs: What method will you use to calculate the rankings on the ladder?

6 Replies 2,038 Views

Hmmmm... According to the ladder: Oak is the best General Regulus is the best DG (better than the Rook/Ice Tb) Erebus is the worst Erebus is the worst, but Im pretty sure thats the only true thing... I mean its not really that accurate. It has so many factors effecting them...What I am saying is just dont nerf/buff Demigods according to those rankings, as they mean very little. They can be used as rough guidelines though.
ok, just for clarification, i get an invalid serial number error. this is because the beta is closed and my serial number will be valid once demigod officially released, right?
Yup, we are all getting that :)
The Beta now final with a Alpha Netcode ! ByeBye Demigod , i will give it back.
My friend wants a copy can u send me your username/pass please thanks :)
Don't get me wrong, I understand that completly. In both HOSK and DoTA Heroes were obviously far more powerful than creeps, especially as time went by. But never were they something you could just ignore and never did there have to be a tower nearby before you worried about them. Seeing a soft, delectable caster hiding among a group of creeps and knowing that jumping in meant certain death made the game deeper. You could lead the creeps off with summons if your hero

I like your overall post, but how as mentioned above, whether or not they can even think about implementing this depends on how well it sells. Atm I really cant tell how many people will buy the game and how many people we will see online the first week. It could be 500+ or 2000+. We will also have to see how the competitive community reacts to this game.
However, these games fall victim to the rock, paper, scissors type of balancing, making it dull to watch imo a
It's a fair point. I can come up with a few scenarios where two UBs tagteam Grasp to "bridge" immunity for allied stuns but we'll really have to see how it plays and I doubt public games will really see it abused the way TB + Rook could have been.
They did also mention a Rook hammer slam nerf so maybe the effect wont be as big. It also takes quite a bit more teamwork to pull of a Rook stun followed by a UB grasp and Hammer Slam than the whole Rook + Ice tb which is a
Why not make the minions stronger, or the idols cheaper, it would make much more sense instead just better armor, health, damage.
Re-read the updates and the posts GPG have made on all the pages. This is exactly what happened. Minions have got buffed

A purchase that allows one "super-creep" to join in the next wave of reinforcements. You can only buy it once and it will join in for only one wave. Could be pretty interesting as tatics could revolve around when to get the super-creep and joining in an offensive as soon as it pops up. Just a thought. Edit~ Nearly forgot. More importantly I want: Potraits or health bars of all allies (and maybe enemies) placed somewhere on your screen. This way as Sedna
Personally, I'd prefer fewer minions
They already did that. Priests/Minatuars/Siege Archers all come in pairs of two max now, instead of 4. They also reduced the number of Yeti's Sedna could get. So yea...They cant really reduce numbers much more unless you want only 1 minion per idol.
As a Torchbearer, I wouldn't care how much damage the QoT's Shamblers can do if I can Rain of Ice + Freeze Nova + Rain of Ice and kill every creep and minion anyway
Nice points from Kestrel and Frogboy - agree with all of them. 1. Maps that are more open (like Prison) and smaller too (as mentioned by Frogboy). Prison has by far become my favourite map. 2. A lot better Minion control - Should be easier to micro etc. 3. Weekly or monthly Tournaments (not like pantheon, thinking knock-out rounds or round robin etc. etc.) that last a day or two. Can be done automatically without the need of supervisers. 4. More "ma

Thanks a lot to both Stardock and GPG. You listened to us through out the whole beta and communicated with us on a regular basis which is something you could have easily not done, and is much appreciated. You can really see how much the game improved since beta 1. Special Thanks to Frogboy, Cari-Elf, Yarlen, Mike...in fact, everyone in GPG and Stardock [e digicons][/e] End of the beta, start of Demigod. Hope it sells well.
