i think it might be wise to note here how many activations one has at their disposal; that would be an infinite number of activations. so, it's a non-issue. just archive what you want, use the archives for backups and re-activate as often as needed.
BulletMagnet
ah, but maybe it will in a future beta.
it's hard to compare SupCom and C&C; it's like comparing a NASCAR (i'm winging an example so the US members can understand) to an Indycar. both are for racing but that's where the similarities end. you need to click; yes, but you need to put thought into it over just clicking faster than your opponent. SupCom's (this it IMO) greatest strength was it's modability, and i hope that StarDock lets (no, makes ) GPG continue in this fashion.
yep, TBO should be correct.
What kryo didn't say is that our new pathing system is epic, epic win. I don't want to spoil the fun, but it's some of the most fluid and organic looking pathing I've ever seen in a game of this scale.
will we see this back-ported to SupCom for the dubiously expected next patch? [EDIT:] WTF? quoting is borked too?
so, for the folks that live in the Southern Hemisphere; around abouts Q1/Q2 2009, depending if there's RCs made or not.
Demi-Demigods? Quartergods? naming them could be an issue, though heralds working rather well, but i like the concept for some extra variety in SP. that said, i know about -->|this|
could we get more graphics settings to play with? IMO SupCom was pretty 20th Century when it came to configurability, i hope DG doesn't follow suit. i know for a fact that there's plenty more graphics options to play with in SupCom than were made visible, and i've seen many in the beta too. people don't have to use them, after all there's still preset modes to choose from, just let those who want to tweak settings to do so. please-please-
Well I definitely wouldn't want the strat icons to be there all the time, if that's what you thought I meant. I was thinking they would only show up if you zoomed out with the strat zoom. but you are right, there should be something to differentiate them at all times as well.
in SupCom, strat. icons appear at a reasonably zoomed out level (basically when it's needed) not all the time (though there is an option to always have them
this has happened to me once on beta 1, though i was only privy to one fake level. i do believe it happens when on the tree-screen while leveling up, at least that's where i remembering it happen.
i haven't heard about this 'Steamworks' before so i shall hold my judgement for now. my first impression, though, was that it's a engine wise thing which would require an entire recoding of the already complete engine. that said it could just be a compatibility front-end to patch in Steam with the game in question.
1. game settings will allow for creep spam, no need for custom maps. if not, simple gameplay mods will suffice. 2. yes. it's the Moho Engine (or a derivative there-of), all the awesomeness of modding in SupCom might be available in DG so long as SD gives it the go-ahead (that's the big issue, pressure StarDock for serious mod-support). last night i made a mod for SupCom that recalculates ALL the rates of fire and damage for EVERY unit based on the AVERAGE
just an after-thought: it's not really GPGs job to make sure DG works with Steam. as DeadMG said, it's Steam's job to make sure it works with other games. if anything, a bug complaint should be sent to them instead.
does anyone know if the Steam Overlay gets angry with SupCom, or is it just a DG specific issue?
OMG! how could i have forgotten Strat. Icons. seriously, if DG had some sick looking ones it'd go over a whole lot easier on those not familiar to it.
hold on one minute. /BulletMagnet knows the problem with the current reporting system. PEBKAC! that said, bumping it to the top of the five announcements might help too. ...or even forcing people to read it (just the once, to make sure they're aware of it) before getting access to the forums?
hey peeps. you can't claim a range of values, otherwise i'll just claim from the year-dot through to the apocalypse.
/BulletMagnet claims 27NOV08 the date for beta 2.
bwahahaha! win.

if you've just bought the game then you'll have to wait until beta 2 rolls out. that will be in a few weeks, maybe a month if we're unlucky. if, however, you preordered ages ago (several weeks) then you should have the option to download (and then install) Demigod from the 'My Games' tab. hope that helps.
just pre-order and wait a few weeks. IINM, beta 2 should roll out about then.
ah, thanks! i've been looking for that too.
yup, this is a really old issue. if you keep the game going the pathing nightmare it causes slows the game-speed down to 2^-7 of real-time or more depending on show old your machine is.
