Stardock as a company and as a group of people go out of its/their way to listen to our customers. We treat them as we would wantto be treated (and often more-so). There is a big difference between criticising, and complaining, and attacking. Many people don't see the distinction. The fact is that we are in a barter system. Users trade money for service (app, game, support). At certain points though . . sometimes the
If you atttack a company (like some have done to Stardock employees) you can probably expect a refund for your purchases and a ban from our servers and store and support. We don't need griefers, right? You want to be critical . . that's cool. Just be polite.
To me, this kind of policy is a 180 of what I though I loved about Stardock. I have never, ever worried about being banned from a game b
Rage quitting in this game is totally legitimate b/c the losing team typically gets such pathetic Favor. I played a game last night that had a Rook who was pretty damned good, but his team member left 3/4 way through the game. My teammate got around 190 favor, I got 160...both of the losers got 10 paltry favor points...even the guy who "rage quitted." It would've made much more sense for them both to leave when they knew it was unwinnable and get in another game where they m
I don't play Sedna, and my game tonight was almost flawless, but I noticed my demigod's pathing screw up about 5 times in this game where he'd get stuck on either nothing, or perhaps other NPCs and not move/attack (only had one pathing problem ever before). I'd have to give a new move order to get him out of it.
Tried pantheon for about 45minutes...switched to skirmish...spent about 20min with 3 unsucessful attempts before getting a game going.
After a few close games where I earned 10 favor while the winning team earned 190, I believe that the losing team should get at least 33% of the favor of the winning team, depending on performance. At this rate, I will quickly start abandoning games when it appears I'm destined to lose.
You have no idea what you're talking about Jinx on this part.
I think Frogboy is overworked and needs to hand off forum policing to someone else. I have seen several posts being condecending to customers, and deserved or not, it just doesn't sit well. One in particular seemed to cross the line where a post was recently locked where you urged people to never buy another Stardock game again to those who agreed
Without a receipt, someone could easily have bought the game on sale or by store reward points, etc, and they'd actually be turning a profit at our expense through the return process if we just automatically issue a check for MSRP.
Ok, I rest my case on receipt, that definately makes sense. Box, I don't think so, but disc and receipt should be required.
Working for a retail company and studying a business, you have to weigh the value versus cost. Returning the game, the company is losing $40 and likely a customer already. On top of that, they're to lose an additional $3 shipping and $10 for the boxing. Now they must rebox (at additional cost.) Now that $13 additional dollars is not a problem when it's one person. Now factor in thousands. Now add my original commentary, what if
uh hello genius, the box contains the BARCODE. The BARCODE contains the INFORMATION OF THAT PRODUCT. I work in retail, you wouldn't realize how important a barcode is.
Forgive me if I ROFL @ your retail experience. I bow to the almighty barcode and its infinite information. You let me know when I can return a Demigod disk but still install by sticking the barcode in my computer.
Quoting ptarpley1, reply 10 I suppose you're right...but for games the first thing to go in the trash is the box for me. I used to keep them but after accumulating hundreds I decided the disc+manual was enough. I wonder what Stardock hopes to gain though by requiring all retail merch except hoping to refuse as many incomplete returns as possible. If they required only a legit retail disc, how could they be scammed any mo
requiring all that stuff Requiring the original receipt and the actual product is the basic principle of any return policy. Doesn't matter what it is.
I suppose you're right...but for games the first thing to go in the trash is the box for me. All I know is that if I actually wanted to return this game (you can pry it from my cold dead hands)...requiring all that stuff would limit the vast majority of LEGIT buyers. I can understand his frustration. I have so many damned games I never keep the boxes, let alone receipts for any amount of time. If Stardock wants their "return" policy to hold any weight with gamers they should accept retail disc only...couldn't they block that disc's activation code from online
Sounds like a great idea
One common theme in all multiplayer games is that when someone's team is facing ceartain loss, they leave. I don't blame these people, and feel the same when this happens. A way to address this is to make sure no matter how badly you are beaten, you at least get something...something worthwhile enough to be convinced to see the match to the end. I know this game has favor points, which you get whether you win or lose, but in my experience, once a match begins to go to one te
