You are producing food, but it's not connected to your HQ, so your HQ needs to buy Food until it arrives at the HQ. (Wait for the food transport to arrive at the HQ to see what happens.)

The game will still run on your LAN, so it doesn't require or even benefit from high-speed Internet if you are playing with friends. Everyone will already have a Steam account because that's the only way to buy the game...

There's not a distinction between LAN and Internet play. If you want to keep out strangers, you can launch a Friends Only lobby.

More Ranked Play games have happened since the patch. Of course, that may mean less 1v1 and 4p games than before, but the sum total is higher.

Unlocking both ladders is a bit of an experiment to see if more people will play if they know their preferred format is available. (Blues hasn't played 1v1 since before the patch, for example...) We'll see how it goes. So far, there have been MORE players in games after the patch than before, but we'll see how that goes. Not sure there is an alternate to ELO. Definitely a worst-system-except-for-all-the-other-ones situation.

SHIFT+TAB now goes backwards, which means it starts with the neutral colony.
