64-bit games are usually a bad idea as it tends to bloat the code base. Remember, variables and pointers take up twice as much space in 64 bit and calculations are a little slower but without any advantage. Identifying areas where you can do parallelism in any game is a serious challenge. Supreme Commander was able to do it because it would break up all of the AI Scripts which did not have any dependancies on each other. In Elemental things tend to work in a particular order and

There's going to be new content written over the next year. Elemental is a bit different than most games that get released. I think Brad has this organic idea about the game where what was released is more like a starting platform that is intended to grow over the next year into an epic release. Other game companies can't do this due to the game being their primary income stream. In Stardock's case, they get their revenue from other areas and it funds the development of this game. &nb

Click on the unit in the City when it is built, you should be able to move it like anyother unit out into the sea. Then move the unit close to the shore. Move your units onto the Transport. Move the transport where you want it to go and it will take your units with you.

There are alot of great ideas that can be stolen from Sword of the Stars. In that game, every race has radically different means by which they travel from planet to planet. For example, Hivers can build star gates that allow alot of ships to move to another planet in 1 turn, but they move to a new planet using sub-light drives so they expand slowly, yet they can defend easily. The terrans use natural jump nodes between some planets to move around and can only move fast when using a jump node.

I'm not doing a good job of beta testing, I've updated my drivers to the new Beta nVidia drivers, I installed a new video card ASUS 260 GTX, AND I've installed the .24 version of Elemental. Now it works. So, we'll just see if anyone else has the same trouble because I can't locate the offending item. :)

Yes, this reproduces on every start. In addition, I've restart several times with the same effect. Tonight I updated my nVidia driver to version 190.62. Same result. I deactivated my second monitor and the effect is the same. Music plays just fine, cursor blinks periodically. Black screen. I have an ASUS 260 GTX arriving Wednesday and I'll be testing with that video card as well starting then. I'm not worried about playing the game, I'm just having fun trying to figure

I just wanted to leave some feedback in trying out the Beta 1. Currently the game appears to work great up until the main game starts. It generates a new world and then everything goes black. I see the feather pointer but nothing else and the video driver keeps failing and recovering. EVGA nVidia 8800 GTS 320 Mb - driver version 185.85 OS : Windows Vista 64 Business Ram : 6 GB Processor : Intel Core i7 9

I don't know if StarDock would want to make a Master of Orion 4. If they base it off Moo2 and it's any where near as good as GalCiv series, then they will probably end up really really rich. [e digicons][/e] Basically, as Starcraft is for RTS's, Moo2 is for 4X games. Making a Moo4 (or Moo3 if you want to forget it ever existed) is like making StarCraft 2.

Who is the manufacturer or your 8800 GTX? Alot of cards come overclocked and that error usually occurs when a high processing application runs into a timing issue with the graphics card. I'd suggest trying to underclock your card, just to see if that is the problem. I'd under clock your video memory at about 20 mhz. BTW, Are you the MicroCyber from SupCom?

Once Vampire starts to attack, he will not stop attacking if you right click a move order. You have to press M and left click to get him to move.
