It would require hundreds of thousands of ships (if not more) to carry billions of soldiers. I haven't played any betas, so I'm not sure how the game is though. What kind of human population are we looking at? I don't see birth rates being able to produce hundreds of billions of humans in such a short period of time. Just isn't realistic. Now, I'm a science fiction fan, read comics, etc, so I can get over it. Just voicing a concern/opinion.

A while back I remember discussion about minor races and their interaction with the great powers. IIRC, they weren't going to use the same interface for contact, but they would still be available for certain diplomatic actions. Are minor races still in the game and how are they interacted with?

When it comes to diplomatic councils, designers rarely put in enough options. I was wondering if it would be possible to design into the game, a way for users to add (game reasonable) additional proposals? Or at least for Stardock to occasionally release 'council updates.' In addition, the AI should be able to recognize them and actively use any new proposals that may be created. What do you think?

You also need to be mindful of Master of Orion 3's release. Last I saw, it was scheduled for mid September. It would be a golden opportunity to see what works and doesn't work there and adapt Gal Civ a bit with that. Galactic Civilization is going to have to be a very special game to succeed, it doesn't really have the name recognition for most PC gamers. I do think it's on the right track (especially with the openess of the developers to new ideas). I'm hoping this is the EU of s

I'm thinking the testers should have a notepad detailing bugs and whatnot. Everytime a new version comes out, check off what's been fixed, make note of what hasn't. Report it here and continue the list. It shouldn't be difficult to keep straight what's working in what version.

I agree. Not being able to really interact with minor powers would be a drag. Imagine having a few minors on one of your frontiers; you set up an alliance with them for mutual protection. You can then influence them and get some free protection on another flank. Maybe have scaled down diplomatic interaction (mutual protection, non-aggression, vassalization/annexation). Remember, more diplomacy usually equals a better experience. ;)

And they'll get it when the game is finished. It's understanable if they are very close to release, but these versions seem to be buggy, so it's not like people are going to be getting the game for free. I've been following this game for quite awhile, I'd like to help in the testing, but I can't commit the money right now.
