I think the shift-buy also just costs more money. But it came in within a few months after early access started, I believe.

You can probably post in the tournament channel, which would have worked for this. Information is limited to make sure that it stays focused, but most others can be posted in pretty freely.
It's another Steam key and should come to you through your Steam mail.
A good source of some basics is Zultar's tutorial series, if you haven't caught those yet. Some of it will probably be overly basic at this point, but he explains things pretty thoroughly. Playlist at https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLPVgQTXUhS4NGW-pnQTdaAxdpAEomIDZ8.
Personally, I think splitting the reviews is the answer. During the early access period and for very early buying decisions, the early access reviews have some value. However, being able to see just the post-release review scores, and having only those used in metrics would be better, both for games that have fixed their early access issues and (for the sake of consumers) for those games that got positive early access reviews because of their promise but released in a very messy s
Debt does matter far more than it used to. Check out some of the earlier games on Zultar's channel and compare to current play. There was once a lot of screaming about debt being too cheap. I think most (though not all) top players would now consider debt to be fairly well balanced. A reality is that debt is an intended tool in the game. It's better to have 4k cash and 4k debt and do something with the cash than to have no cash and no debt. Howeve
This doesn't really take into account the difficulty of determining the true profitability of a building. If a price is artificially high due to a stockpile, something may seem to be profitable when it really isn't. And how should power factor in? If debt is not an issue, it shouldn't, if it is . . . The current approach of giving the raw data based on the current situation and leaving you to determine what that means is more difficult, but more accurate.
I decided to play through the tutorials this evening. While some issues remain, it went fine through the first three. Then on Better Living through Chemicals, I was playing rather slowly and casually and managed to get into D debt, making it impossible to buy the MULE and complete the tutorial . . .
The player that slowly builds needed resources looses every time. (power/water/oxygen/fuel) A well balanced company/player has 0% chance of winning.
It's important not to focus too much on the "needed" resources and make sure that you are always paying attention to what will make the most money. If power stays low all game, you may never want to produce it. On the other hand, even
Yeah, aren't some of those turn-based?
Plus some of us would love to not run in to top players half the time. ;-)
Hitting the toggle button twice does fix it.
I resumed a skirmish while waiting for a match, and, even though everyone had founded and I was at level 2, the resources area was showing the available resources, so I couldn't buy or sell anything, or see how much I had of anything. I also got the click to scan message as the game resumed.
A little harsh, but not really unfair. Looks like the tutorial could use some language polishing as well. I know they're robots, but English should still be a little smoother.
Thank you.
Just what the title says. I was playing a quickmatch (which did start this time, at least -- didn't go into a skirmish), and before either of us founded, I got a notice that I was bought out by PlayerX for 0.00. PlayerX was, of course, not the name of my opponent. If I cared about my standings, I would note that this did seem to actually count as a loss in my standings. I've only done it once, but haven't played again. I was playing a skirmish before it happened. Yes, I am Faressa on steam. Here is the log file to a point. It then repeats the last 4 lines MANY times and finally has some clean up things when I kill the application (apparently). When I say many times, I mean the log file is 6.4 megabytes. Logfile is located at: E:/My Documents/My Games/Offworld/Logs/output.txt --------------------------
I was trying to play a quickmatch. I didn't get a match right away, so went into a skirmish. The game announced that it had found a match and pulled me out the skirmish as usual. The game is STILL sitting at the 1v1 Match Found screen over 10 minutes later. I believe I'm going to have to kill the game to get out of the screen. ESC does nothing, and no buttons work. No error messages or anything, just sitting there with the spinning circle. <p
In a 4 player FFA that lasts longer you're shut down more often by the BM and the game is longer because you're fighting for resources vs multiple players. I wouldn't be opposed to mike's suggestion to make debt more punishing in the 1v1 to mirror the 4 player game but that might be difficult to implement.
Actually, making debt more punishing based on how many players are in the game ou
One other thought: I've considered a reward for upgrading that was reduced by the amount of time it took to make the upgrade. What do you think of that? Should something like that only apply to levels 2, 3, and 4 or even only to levels 2 and 3? Thanks in advance for any thoughts.
I'm finding this thread very interesting because I'm actually working on developing an agent that learns to play Offworld Trading Company using reinforcement learning. What that means very simplistically is that as the agent plays the game, it will receive positive or negative feedback to help it pick better actions to take in the future. Obviously, we can have the agent get big positive feedback when it wins and big negative feedback when it loses, but we expect that it w
You need to have enough money to be able to buy some of your own stock.
And I liked your review.
To answer the other part of your post, Soren has specifically stated that videos are OK and participated and promoted them with several streamers and youtubers such as Quill18, Arumba, Steejo, Bentham. He's also been very supportive of Zultar (a newer youtuber and streamer who does a lot of OTC).
