wow, looking good it looks like your taking SC as an example right?
ASADDF
I think your Video card will be supported for DX12, and you have a 6 core Processor, that will help a lot. Still the best people to answer your question are the Dev's.
Really nice! so will we be playing with that zoom in 2 days?
We're definitely more likely to add more flying units sooner than ground units. We'd need a very specific distinguishing characteristic for the units. And in fact, you guys will have a lot of say on how we differentiate the units even further. There's actually a magic number in game theory on the optimal # of units. It's actually 13 (including the "peon" unit).
Lol nice magic number.<
I for one think it is important that meta units are more dynamic than just marching in formation. They need to have moving parts that dodge and block and perform fire missions and relocate. Each constituent part's AI can be quite rudimentary, but as a whole it adds up to a fairly sophisticated entity. Such as artillery that fires, moves, and fires again. Or skirmishers that auto-kite, chasing enemies that are retreating and backing away w
Great articles about the game on DX12 vs DX11, still a don't care who's fault it is with this so-called bug. I hope it will be fixed soon so we can play with it when we get our Founders build. [e digicons]XD[/e] Keep this awesome Job Stardock/Oxide.
they look nice, but of course they need more work, what do you mean by rejected?
That actually sounds quite similar to what was done in Sins of a Solar Empire. The Capital ships were given upgrades based on experience points (but you decided what upgrades to get) and the Star bases had upgrade slots where money could be spent to add abilities, defense, or weapons power to the base (after researching the respective features). I like the idea, but think that the T3 and T4 units should get more abilities ba
like where this is going @Frogboy, @ASADDF I'm sorry, I find your idea has good spirit but I don't actually like it :/ let's keep brainstorming at it together ok? (mainly what I don't like is that the blobs don't have clear borders and are constantly convulsing and morphing so they have unclear clickable area and may be hard to select but even then, zoomed out, their transparency makes t
I did put $250 on PA because i did like the idea of this kind of RTS. the problem is that the game has no diversity, everything look the same, dead planets, and it missed something groundbreaking, its a Simple RTS in a way.
What would be the specific difference you'd be looking for between a walking unit and a hovering unit?
For me its the same, but i will like to see some more interesting Flying units.
Hello Frogboy and Founders. Here i will give you guys my idea, and i think its very easy to manage without icons, make Meta Units Color Glow each team when its zoomed out from 70% or more. Here i will put some example pictures that i made. In this first picture you can see how the blue Team Meta Unit have a glow around it vs the red team with the same C
I just want to paste an Idea that i wrote about the Units research tree in the Ashes: August 2015 FAQ . I hope it wont bother anyone. if the are getting a new Research tree in AOTS i will like the dev's to hear my idea about the T3 and Future T4 Units.what i am talking about is to the same T3 unit have differe
This is nice yes, but if you look at the Hardware Survey post, you see that there is a lot of players who Use ATI Graphic cards, so i guess that's why the Dev's are waiting for AMD.
You cannot try it yet, because there is no new build for AOTS. I think Stardock/Oxide are still waiting on AMD to release their new drivers.
If you look at the latest pictures you see that they have a new UI in place, i think all that you said will be fixed in the next build. [e digicons]:D[/e] [e digicons][/e]
We should have the new build soon... Really soon... Really Really soon... Tonight soon? Or very soon? But i am sure that they are finishing last minute optimizations and in house testing, so yes they said by the 13th of August, it should be soon...today or tonight or... Soon.
Its playable of course it is and so far a great start. [e digicons][/e]
A quick question about AOTS: when the units get destroyed will we see Wrecks (destroyed units stick around) it will be cool i hope so And another question for tatsujb : the last 2 pictures that you added about SC updated graphics, witch mod is it?
Well they're changing it up come next patch/release, so let's see what they come up with.
Yep and germanafro there are many posts that talk about it, you should check them out with the Dev's answering some of them.
Nice! [e digicons][/e]
I just came up with a new Idea for AOTS, if possible to add in as a DLC or expansion. Post-Humans and The Substrate Every post-Human is a army, a country, a civilization with the same rules, so why all of them are the same? why do they have the same looking units? My idea here is for a Future release to give us the players (Custom UNIT design: Players have total control over how their Units function as well as how they look. Any uni
Meta l and Radioactives are the perfect resource for AOTS that does not need to be changed. Turinium as i understand is like Victory Points or strategic points, you get more points by taking regions and by having lets say 1000 points you win the game. That's fine for players who like that kind of mode and i will like to add lets say a <span
It's posts like these that are a reminder of WHY you have founders programs. Next time someone posts about how games shouldn't have public alphas, someone should point them to this thread.
?? What? errr why? i don't get it, did i wrote something really bad or wrong in this post? I just wrote my personal thoughts of the game so far. That it, not asking dev's to do any changes to it o anyt
Resource management discussion
My opinion here is let the player build metal extractors and radioactive harvesters anywhere in the map without needing to take a region, But if you do take a region and secure that region by building a logistic array in it then you get the buffs that the region will give you. In company of heroes you always get Logistics, Fuel, Munitions at a very low speed having or not a region.
