Looking mighty fine so far. I am hoping that the spread of cards in the main window is a mechanic that allows you to choose one of several spells in a certain school to research. But we will see...

I think the sacrificing of a virgin daughter is a wonderful idea. Of course, it leads to the idea of having to fight off random suitors in order to keep her suitably virgin... But this may be getting a little too complex. (Maybe we can mod something in later ;) )
"In MoM, if you "died" you could cast the spell of return to get back into the game. It had a couple of caveats though: 1. you needed to have enough magic available to cast it. 2. You couldn't do any other magic while you are "away". 3. Casting the spell could take quite a number of turns during which your troops had to fend off the enemy without support." I also feel this is the superior method of handling prime Avatar death. So long as there is
I like a 'risky' retreat option. I think first you should have to disengage your units, and move a certain distance away from the assault point. Then you can attempt a retreat, but some units will almost certainly be lost as you leave the field of battle. It would be optimal to be able to designate a certain number of units as 'blockers', from which group the units killed in the retreat would be chosen from. My optimal system would be where you must choose 2/3s of your units to be nea
In images two and four, we can see top down views od two obvously different cities. These shots make it obvious that individual building graphics are in place for different structures that you create, which is wonderful. The orientation of them, however, makes me curious as to whether the placement is random or user driven. From the images, it could be either...
I don't quite see why males should necessarily be the dominating gender as well. I support the idea of an option at the setup if a player wants a dominating or genders treated as equals.
But under the 'traditional' system, I don't think that males ARE the dominating gender. It is true that male children would inherit the birthright to future generations they were part of, but it is a yin/yang relationship. Females are required for strong diplomatic ties. They should giv
Well, I don't know about the whole degrading women just for historical accuracy part, but I do agree that it just makes more sense from a historical viewpoint for the father to have 'first dibs' on any progeny. I think that daughters should have the option of being trained also, but in less warlike pursuits. They should be able to gain population growth bonuses, mana boosting bonuses, and the like. Of course, it would be nice if you could TRY to train them in warlike pursuits, but it
I took your quiz, and opted for maximum user input, however: All of these things should be bound together, I think. The soveriegn controlling the father of the child should get control of the child... TO BEGIN WITH. He should then be presented with options in certain years (turns) as the child ages. These choices can effect the outcome of the child's future, however, each choice should have a chance of failing. The more powerful the bonuses each choice gives, t
hear hear we need more player interactivity. we really need to be able to chat with each other inside the game.
This is awesome, I am installing the program also and will join your merry little band momentarily.
I am just having the same problem (the latest in a long list of problems) tonight. I have been able to connect okay (when the game runs that far) until tonight, and now I keep getting the "could not connect to NAT server" problem. According to some other posts, port 6000 must be open, but mine is so that is not the issue. *sigh*
I am having freezing problems also. This usually happens during a loading or transition screen. The mouse pointer moves, but the game stalls and I can not alt-tab or ctrl-alt-del away. Grrrr.
Quoting kryo, reply 1The game just picks up you[r] Impulse nick (if you don't have an alias set, it's your name). Changes to your nick should transfer over to demigod within 24 hours. Well ... kryo ... that's in theory. As you very well know, it doesn't quite work like that, as I have repeatedly informed you on past threads. I have the latest update, and still, my in-game nick does not match our home account/log-in, Im
While I am not quite as up in arms about this issue as Ms. S. is, I am given to agree in the large part with her sentiment: I feel that this is an important, as well as fairly easy to fix issue. While development did eventually mention that they would "get around" to fixing it "eventually", I feel there is a very important security issue here: Many people use the same master account name across many different applications.<
Okay, I just booted the game up and experienced exactly the same crash. Unfortunately, I did not copy the error message this time, as I did not realize killing the main application would also shut down the exception error window. However, there is now a pattern. Both games I started a new, offline tournament, and chose lord erebus as my demigod. Both times the game loaded, I opened the shop screen, bought two teleport scrol
Hello. The game, once connected and loaded, ran fine for a couple of days. Today, however, I have experienced 3 seperate crashes. Two times, the game froze while loading a map, then would not let me alt-tab away or escape to the task manager. I had to do a hard boot with all my crap running in the background. Twice. Not fun. The third and thus far last time the game loaded, and two seconds after the match started, I was
Yeah, I know how you feel. It has started to crash on me lately, the features are all bugged up, and while it is a fun game, it is just too frustrating to play, ATM.
Yes, that seems to be the way it plays out >_
When I first started the pantheon, I chose a team and a demigod. I have played about five games, and in my last game, the game "assigned" me a different demigod than the one I chose originally. The next game after that, I noticed that I had an even different demigod to play as before I pressed "fight". I selected "choose demigod", only to find that all the choices other than the one I had been "assigned" were greyed out. Is
So, this is real, I have to use my master login... Not only is this a security issue, but also, my master SN, as MANY of the SNs I am seeing online, are not exactly the easiest to remember. It makes it that much more difficult to build community, especially when then in-game chat is so weak, when half the people I play with are named "32johnpz" or something similar... Why can we not choose a "handle"
I tried right clicking on the game and choosing "history", but that does not seem to have been updated since launch. I don't see a stickied "patch history" post in any of the forums here, and I am curious how I can gain access to this information. Thanks for any help.
Also, please don't quote "not enough players" ... There are plenty of people if you pull up the chat screen (shift-tab). And, according to this forum, they are all having the same issue. I respect that you stay on top of the forums, and make an effort to reply, but please do not feed us pap. We just want to play the game. I think everyone involved wants us to be able to easily and pleasantly play the game. We are ga
Hear hear, I am having all the same issues. Well said.
Really people? My master log in is the only option I have as my screen name? K, thx, gj.
So, this has been my experience so far today. Fire up demigod, oh boy, it's patched up and ready! Select "multiplayer -> parthenon" ... okay, we will wait about a minute and a half while it does... something. Select "Fight". Wait for a few minutes. Decide to read a book. Connect to a few people. Have them all leave. Watch nothing happen. Hit back. Wait. Finally get the main internet screen to come
