you can set a flash movie (.swf) file as a desktop background on windows XP by embedding it within a .html file, and setting the file as your desktop. I don't know of any other way to do it on XP, nor any way to do it on vista. I have an example on my DA at http://cutt3r.deviantart.com/art/Props-Wallpaper-69580381

I've never submitted anything that has been rejected, nor have I submitted wallpapers before (I don't make them), but I think it would be extremely discouraging and frustrating to have a piece rejected that I have worked hard on. On the other hand, when I opened the wallpaper gallery tonight and was greeted by about 5 pages of terrible fractal images... I think that there should be a higher standard. I tried uploading the images in a .zip file first, but I got the same results. I didn't post about it then, because I figured that there were a number of things that could have gone wrong (including but not limited to server or user errors). Later I right-clicked on my dock and selected 'Package images for sharing...' and created a .doczip file for them with it. To make sure that there were no problems with the file, I ran it and successfully added the images to my gallery.

for about a month now I've been trying to upload an icon package I created with 4 .png images in it. Every time I submit the file and description to the gallery I get a page saying: Your skin has failed to upload. When uploading a new skin, your Skin file must also be submitted. that's all I get. any ideas?
