Your skin has failed to upload.

When uploading a new skin, your Skin file must also be submitted.

for about a month now I've been trying to upload an icon package I created with 4 .png images in it.
Every time I submit the file and description to the gallery I get a page saying:

Your skin has failed to upload.
When uploading a new skin, your Skin file must also be submitted.

that's all I get.
any ideas?

Which gallery are you uploading to? Png icons should be uploaded to the Object Dock gallery as a .zip file.

Sounds like you are uploading to the IconPackager gallery which is only for full icon packages for use with IconPackager.

I tried uploading the images in a .zip file first, but I got the same results. I didn't post about it then, because I figured that there were a number of things that could have gone wrong (including but not limited to server or user errors).
Later I right-clicked on my dock and selected 'Package images for sharing...' and created a .doczip file for them with it.
To make sure that there were no problems with the file, I ran it and successfully added the images to my gallery.

It's better to upload as a zip. It could be the upload is being blocked by your firewall or some other local issue as items are being uploaded here daily without a problem.

There is an older version of the upload page you could try, but I don't have a link handy. Someone who does should be along soon.

cutt3r,

We need a little more information to recreate the problem you are having.

Which library are you trying to upload to?

The IconPackager library will only accept .ip and .zip file extensions.  The ObjectDock library will accept .dockzip, .zip and a number of other extensions.  None of the libraries accept .doczip as you have indicated above (note the spelling).

Please also note that the preview image must be .jpg as indicated on the upload page.

If the file extension is what the problem turns out to be, just remember to upload files with the indicated file extension that is given on the upload page.
