DroneFragger: that definitely sounds like a bug. Can you figure out a way to make either the super-fast or super-slow things happen so we can figure out what's happening? Are you using a normal mouse or a built-in laptop mouse?

Thanks Ron Do you notice it mostly when you are zoomed out (planets in icon mode) or zoomed in (looking at a grav well) or doesn't matter? I've made some tweaks to the smart-targeting that should make it less zig-zaggy... a sensitivity option is a good idea. For the moment, use the zoomMult and slowZoomMult in the camera settings file. If you turn slowZoomMult up past 1.0 it w

Sinzer Hey Annatar, At the moment you can use ctrl-zoom to keep the focus locked on something, but this may change depending on how people use it!

DatonKallandor: You're thinking along the same lines - best of both worlds is the target! EvilTesla: Right now the shortcut key is defaulted to M. SE-Weed: You shouldn't have to adjust your play style or center your zoom target, that would defeat the purpose of ZTC ! When you say that you kept going past your intended zoom target, could you give me a few more details? Like - your inten

theleif: it should be exactly as you described, only changing the zoom position when you are zooming in. it does not pick new zoom targets as it is zooming out. SE-Weed: My wheel setting in windows is also 3 lines to the click, so there must be something else going on. Can anybody explain to me (preferably with a diagram or screenshot or video or something) a situation that reproduces any zig-zaggy or bizarre behaviour? My zoom is smooth like butter, even when I'm scrolling

A couple of thoughts: a) If you want an object to come to center screen, you can focus it by ctrl-clicking or double-clicking. b) If you want to get a close look at a ship in phase space, keep your cursor over it or use ctrl-zoom I completely agree that it should not grab planets when you're trying to focus on something smaller - I'm sure we can improve this. On the other hand, you want it to grab planets when you're trying to focus on them <img src="http://images.stardock

For those of you who find it awkward, could you explain in more detail what it is you're trying to zoom in on and what it is you're actually zooming in on? IE Are you in some planets grav well, trying to zoom in on a ship and you find you are being sucked towards the planet? Or towards some planet on the other side of the galaxy? Suggestions welcome!

Save games are broken at the moment, unfortunately. Stratteggi, your message sounds like you have a broken install... almost certain to be fixed by a full uninstall/reinstall. Any minidumps or savegames would be really helpful, as we haven't been able to reproduce this crash, and can't fix it until we do!

Hey Leid... thanks for the tip. If you have a save game of this it would be a huge help - I'm trying to reproduce this as per your instructions, but no luck yet. Thanks

Hey guys, we've tracked down and fixed the save game problem, but we haven't had any luck with the empire tree one. The best I can tell from what has been posted so far is that it probably has to do with one or more of the following. a) zooming b) empire tree c) enemy planets If anybody has a sure-fire method of reproducing this crash... please post it! Thanks alot

Haha - *impressed* you guys know your stuff! Inert, you've picked out a couple of things that bug me about that track too. Particularly the drum thing, and the vocals getting in the way. Nice. It should be fixed by the time we hit release. As much as I love the Adagio for Strings, I don't think we'll be using it directly. I'll take it under consideration stylistically though

hey guys, feedback is helpful, thank you all. the music, and the system that decides what music you should be hearing, are obviously not finalized yet, so any suggestions are welcome. i have a fairly sizeable list of things that i want to improve already one of which is the "synthiness" of some of the sounds (good ear, Lord_Phoenix). another is the stylistic range (ZimatDH). i don't wa

Hey ShadowDragon, DaWilko, Glad you guys made it in A lot of the research and artifact stuff is under review, so if you come across any more glitches where the research just doesn't seem worth it, please post them. It's unlikely that players will be allowed off the grid in any way as major as you've outlined (for reasons which have been discussed extensively already) but if you have any o

Using the infocard makes you jump alot around Hey all, I'm curious if this is the case for others. Do people use the reports (the infocard is that popup window on the other side of the screen ) much? or do you find it's too irritating to have the camera moving around all the time? Interesting idea, Multi. We're still thinking about how to improve

Right now you should be able to use z,x, and c to change zoom levels, as well as caps lock (or the button on top of the HUD). Can you get through the tutorial using those? It shouldn't be too hard to allow people to bind keys for zoom in and out. Thanks for the heads up!
