I talked with the family trust officer (Keybank Privatebank) this morning, and he confirmed that these Mortgage Backed Securities (Investments) (MBIs) are a Ponzi Scheme. They have been repackaged so many times that nobody knows their value. The government will pay for the rescue of the Financial System the easy way (least painful), or the hard way via the FDIC, which IS the government, IF people panic and do a general run on their banks (extremely painful).

We got Tropical Depression Ike here, with gusts over 60 MPH, and most of the state (Ohio) had power problems (parts of counties). Depending on where in Ohio to Ike's track, anything from branches down to entire trees.
Uhura doing that SIren Song, was to draw the testosterone crazed males into a trap. In case you forgot the context. Jar'Jar was comedic relief.
Gee, I can remember using a slide rule, and I was fairly good with it too. I build my own systems now.
The worst that could happen, is that they end up creating Barneyzilla, who sings an extremely loud and off key rendition of 'you love me, I love you'.... Actually what they are looking for, is the God Particle.
I have 4 hard disks in my computer, 3 PATA and 1 SATA, plus a PATA dvd burner and one FDD. Also have an external hdd.
"That all comes across as overly negative, but it's not meant to, i'm just sick of series that have an amazing amount of potential being treated like jokes." No argument with that one bit.
Eureka is pretty good, and sometimes very funny. Sanctuary looks like it may be pretty good, but, that is a 'wait and see' thing. I can wait for Stargate Universe, although I would prefer that they would get Atlantis fully functional with 3 ZPMs in parallel. I agree that most of the programming is a septic tank special.
They have blown every chance they had to ask what the Ancients called the ZPM. Since these are critical to power any Atlantis class starship, why do they not ask when they have an opportunity? The Pegasus Replicators made them, and the last opportunity was last week's episode.
SciFi Channel has this habit of showing a bunch of one series on one day, and they may as well rename themselves the Horror Channel. I can look at the first movie listed for Saturday or Sunday, and see what the entire day is going to be about.
Well, Tropical Storm Fay has made landfall, with maximum sustained winds of 60 MPH.
Man we never get any of the good weather in NY.
Be careful what you wish for.
Dual physical processor boards generally use an EPS power supply. These are larger than the standard ATX PSU form factor. Mostly longer. The key thing is that they have the 24 pin, 4 pin, AND 8 pin power connectors. Large and expensive.
Well, Mac OSX is a BSD, as Windows NT forward is based on Open BSD (at least parts of it). The Open BSD License does not require sharing of code.
Quadro's are Workstation cards, and for CAD, 3D CG production industry apps, and things like that. They are optimized more for OpenGL than DirectX.
I use 1 all the time. My other one is for old stuff and has Win98SE on it. My main system has about $1,700 US in parts.
I still use PSP 8 and PS 7 here.
The new enemy is supposed to show in mid season (Atlantis). For the moment, it seems to be held until after the olympics, along with the other friday night shows on SciFi channel. Carter understands Asgard technology better than anyone else. So she has her hands full with that. Jackson understands the Ancients (Alterans) and other cultures better than anyone, except the Asgard, Nox, and Furlings. Running joke in Atlantis: nobody has asked what the Ancients called the Z
By the time season 10 came around, viewership had dropped drastically. Probably due to the departure of Richard Dean Anderson as a regular (mainstay). Continuum may be the last of the Stargate SG-1 for a while, and elements of it are being incorporated into Stargate Atlantis. After all, SG-1 has been about SG-1 team fighting off bad guys, and after the Ori were defeated, where do you go from THAT? Ba'al is the only Pest left (Continuum). The Asgard declared the humans to be the Fifth Ra
I have one for each of my two computers, complete with power conditioning. It is definitely worth it. I learned the hard way that the most dangerous route for lightning to zap the computer, is the telephone line. My Tandy 2000 got it twice that way and no UPS, along with 2 destroyed modems. The 2000 is long gone. Even so, for severe Lightning storms, disconnect everything from wall, phone line, and/or cable/dsl.
Given that the PC is a general purpose computer, you can use it for many things.
I have Verizon Wireless and a cheap phone, with a plan that costs me almost $45 per month. I just use it for voice only and no voice mail. I use it to regularly chat with a friend in Hinkley, Ohio. Other than that, it is for communicating with Dial a Ride for my transportation to and from my doctors appointments. I am at home most of the time, so not much use for a cell phone. An iPhone would be a total waste of money for me.
Edward E. Smith, Ph.D. (Chemist by training, which is reflected in his writing) Andre Norton (Alice Mary) Grand Dame of Science Fiction Dr. Isaac Asimov Anne McCaffrey Too many others to list, or even remember.
Well, we have not been able to get rid of cockroaches and termites, and not for lack of trying. I hate movies and series that Disrespect the authors of the books they purport to be based on. Perfect example is Beastmaster, both movies and series. The only thing that was by the book, was the title.
If you can get XP, that is. (legitimate copy)
