Nice strategy. I'm going to use that

I wouldn't expect more defensive structures, myself. Better than defenses anyway is to just build more ships (and you can take them elsewhere when they're no longer needed there!). Long range defenses are a Good Thing. Basically for all the reason above.
*Puts his hand into the cooker* Try that and all you'll get are third-degree burns Hmmm, that's a difficult choice. On one hand we have ignorance. on the other there's third-degree burns, but also the soothing knowledge of g
All of the races won't be playable during the beta. You'll have to wait for the final release for that. Which one didnt make the cut? Or did they all not make the cut? None of them made it, there will be no races in the new beta. Sorry. Also, ytmnd is down (???) so I feel horribly left out of the fun.
I agree with multi, it would be nice if your intire fleet wouldn't be filled with just capships. removing the Fleetpoint requirement will help a lot with that.
well most scientists... And before you bring up the Mars Orbiter, engineers don't count. (The first Mars orbiter failed because the contractor used English units and never bothered to label. Ohh you don't have to be rocket scientist to do that. I remember seeing concrete foundations for a house in perfect 1:3.28 scale because the enginer drew up the plans in feet and inch. They only noticed
Agreed, I'd rather see smarter AI using all axis then no z-asix at all, but if the AI is not smart enough to realise that the fastest way to the other side of the wide line of Gaus is Over or under, then it would really suck.
Yup, it is indeed around somewhere.
it's....it's...impossible.. P5y has a point....amazing
Well, i'll go for monday then, all the other days are taken anyway Monday would be best though *big puppy eyes at devs*
Ok, here's a little theory behind the Hoshiko. It's probably some kind of fleet tender, which served to repair and maintain ships in space before the war, so there would be little need for a small profile or large broadside. There would be need to maximize the ammounts droids it can carry, which would result in a disc-shaped ship. Alcari, have you been spying on us? This description is very close to
I've seen this to, when i ordered my ships to pursue, they followed them trhough interplanetary space and killed the enemy. After killing them, I ordered them elsewhere, to see what happened. They traveled all the way back to the original planet, then proceeded by phasejump.... Odd indeed.
Hmm, I'm really split between the two options. On one hand, having a planet in enemy space, surrounded by enemy defenses and unable to build anything sucks. On the other, being able to kill a whole system worth of defenses and shipyards be bombing the planet also sucks. so how about this: When you conquer a planet through culture or that TEC uber tech, simply give the new owner control of half(or a certain percentage) of the orbitals. It makes sense, because the whole
Yes, quickly, change the subject! I really think we should do a massive teamup, Schem and his allies VS all comers, once the MP gets here.
I like this method, but I would a like an option in the diplomacy screen to allow "allies" access or not. I don't like my "friends" getting deep in my territory, and then breaking theri truce. I would prefer if there would be an option for 'Jump acces' or something. I like this method of Jump Blockers, retreating is allready costly because of the time it takes to jump, which gives the defenders a few seconds of free shooting. I like that inhibitors only block enemies from bypa

There would be need to maximize the ammounts droids it can carry, which would result in a discs-haped ship. It's still ugly though, it's not consistent with the sci-fi look of the TEC ships, which is all angles and bulk, while the Hoshiko is slim and smooth.
Well, I can live without tracking turrets, remember that we have tens of times more large ships then in homeworld. I do agree that the flak firgate should have better firearcs on it's turrets though.
Well I kind of agree that it's style doesn't fit with the other TEC ships, but it's probably explainable.
But erm... we have the scout frigate, with the Explosion thingy upgrade. They do a nice job of raiding. It's just a bit unfortunate that the upgrade is pretty high-level, thus not available in the early game, which is where raiding is the most usefull. Of course, Extractors aren't quite as important as, say C&C harvesters. You just build a new one, no problem.
I've a great screenshot though. I am so glad you came out of hiding Well the Eifel is phalic immagery.... Thanks. I don't know what yours looks like, but it's not eifel-tower shaped... Also, the french
why do you have two names...? Because Multi and Kosc decided to play another cruel game of multi personallity disorder and this time it seems Alcari is the victim instead of you. No, it really is me. One is an ancient account, this one is the one I made for sins. Alternatively, I could just say that there is to much awesomeness to be contained in one name.
or from the french for that matter. I hate it when real life catches up to sayings. I've a great screenshot though.
No off-switch! Just balance it out. As long as balancing it out isn't done by making them really expensive, or limiting it to a single weapon. As for supcom, I would say the Gattling artillery is the most overpowered, even though the range has been decreased in patches, it's still insta-death.
Poll schmoll, we need discussions fraggit! My first cap is always an Akkan, because of the colonise ability. All other capships are Kol battleships. Simply because the carrier cruisers are far more usefull then Sova, because they don't take up slots. Then there are the Dunov and the Marza... Well, I guess when you're going planet raiding, a Marza is usefull. It's missle attack is pretty strong, but that's it. The dunov is generally bad. My ideal fleet is a lin
At it's most conservative mabye. But who care about your silly obsolere coper wires? Fiber finally gives you a reason to complain about slow servers, and be sure it's not you. (48Mbit bwahaha)
