We all have to remember that Schem is a very vocal person with very little vocabulary See, that's why we need sigs Also, Tau ARE sissy . Now that that's out of the way, back on topic.

second, I've never had a pirate actually come and attack me. are you sure you are playing the same game? indeed, never seen this either, even though i always play with pirates on... I have yet to use the bounty feature... Has anyone else tried it? Yes, but it doesn't seem to have much effect on the actions of the AI's. Putting a huge bounty on a player doesn't make the AI attack him significantly more. It does how

The top one is a Space marine battle barge (artist impression) from Warhammer 40k, the bottom one is the Roger Young, from starship troopers, It's actaully a troop carrier, but looks quite cool.

any half-brained commander would take that opportunity to pierce your center, as your strategy would be compromised. Well, a claw formation (which this is an expansion of) was used in airial combat only when they had: A - The element of surprise, B - A very tightly packed enemy or C - Superior numbers and didn't want survivors. Needless to say, it wasn't used much. Also, the Zor (if memory serves) are cool. Still, this was ab

a supernova would kill the entire solar system, blow most asteroids out of orbit and some of the closer planets, and have a significant affect on nearby solar systems (if its energetic enough it could possibly kill stuff there to) I'm sure you dont want that I dunno, I wouldn't mind having it hapen to you. It'll give the untold legions on my ships a day off. Hmmm... even having comet-like bodies just as extra eye candy

We really do listen and make significant changes based on user-feedback, not just bug fixes, as the Sins beta has already shown. *Fanboymode* Which is why SINS ROOLZ! */fanboymode* I hope the beta testers pick up on any spelling and grammatical errors that plagued GC2. Haven't spotted any yet, (besides that pirate in the tutorial was spelled "Pirate!" which just burns the eyes)

come on...bring on the goodness...please? before I go another week.... + Improvements to initial load times. there was something wrong with the load times?? not that i'm complaining

indeed, I think interstellar travel takes about the right amount of time. It's just a bit odd that sometimes, when two planets in solar systems seem really close, you still have to jump form star to star.

Yes, but ships prefer a sheet layout, which is pretty wierd, why wait for one another when you can all shoot?

I hope the pirates go stronger the longer you leave them alone. As it is now, pirates in an unexplored galaxy will still be only a few ships strong. even if you're massiva armada is wiping them out with a single salvo. I find the pirates also play the same part as the Neutrals do in Warcraft 3. They also slow down colonisation in the early phases a bit. With pirates you can't swarm out over all nearby planets, you need to clear them first (which i th

I asume he's not noticing the Inhibitor, which isn't that obvious in the diplay. It wouldn't hurt to give the ships some kind "Hyperspace blocked" icon or something.

A nice start would be fleets lining out vertically, instead of horizontally. A wall is more usefull then a sheet.

If anything, I think the cannons fire to slowly. I'd suggest a higher RoF, with less damage. (maybe it fires both barrels seperatly) As for it being to strong...remember that in a sustained siege, you will be able to pump out frigates a lot faster then the enemy can with defences (unlike in C&C3). Building time should be taken in before calling balance issues. It is probably to strong though.

[quote]My final thought would be to remove the separate fighter/bomber squads and have just one type of small craft. There would still be fighter (i.e. anti-small craft) and bomber (anti-ship) roles, but the squad could switch roles with a dock+rearm rather than the current remove (fighter|bomber) and add (bomber|fighter) management we have to do.[/quote I disagree on that. Fighters and bombers are very physically different. One does not go from light and nible, to torpedo-hauler with a

lol same here. I used to do it all the time but the AI just seems to ally and break alliance at random so there is no real value in an alliance. Very rare is the alliance that lasts more than 20 minutes. Indeed, even if you use subtle diplomacy, such as a dozen caps at his capital world, he still gleefully breaks his alliance.

thats not the point. I'm not talking empty strategies like "FILL UP ON THE SCOUT FRIGS!!!" I want a little more depth than there only being one type of viable army setup. and with the current ships, thats all there is. Same here, good thing the devs allready said there will be more frigates. well, actually they didn't deny there won't be any more frigates, but that's the same thing.

the planets appear to be on one side of the system yeah, this is an annoying aesthetic piece. Ahh, so it's not just me running into wierd random solar systems. Why is that an aesthetic? I doesn't look right to me. There's an option to toggle flagships when you start a new game.

Yep, its the game mesh formation. You will need our tools to open and view them which we will provide in the future. That sounded like a chalenge...Quickly, to hax mobile. Would you like to know More ?

thats not possible, at least if you have any semblance of something called a "brain". something a what now? i was thinking of bases that you design any way you want to Sounds quite unlikely, sorry.
