Good luck with posts in this area, doubt anything is done, might generate a response such as "yup we're considering it, yup we've talked about fixing that." lol.

It's a checks and balances and economic tradeoffs system. Very cool. If you need fast growth rates but low money income, keep morale high with low taxes, if you need money and dont really need growth or growth rate keep your taxes higher. I wouldn't even use morale as a scale of morale, it's more a scale of how much flexibility there is between adding taxes and lowering them. How far you can go without counting.

Is this a challenge issued before the development has even begun? Lol. What better endorsement for MP then a SP player challenging another SP player. Perhaps in the not too far future we could get one going. I'd be willing to set aside a weekend day to playing a game of 4-8 hours of length. I think making a few different MP options would be cool. Hotseat is a neat idea, but unless you have a lot of friends who play Galciv in your area, or if you could box up the autosave and s

He's just a jerk, I'd love to whip his ass in MP GALCIV 2. I'd take you out before the Torians just for fun, and if you were playing as the Torians, I'd take you out first anyway cause I don't like you already. STFU that's cute, don't see that one in the dictionary, maybe you got that in the DICKionary.

Rather then beating horse right now I'm going to grab a sandwhich. And then go play some joint ops, while I'm dead and waiting for a respawn I'll be dreaming about how cool it would be waiting for a MP opponent to fire back a diplomatic response in GALCIV2 MP.

Yeah but it's also helpul if they reread it. LOL. I seperate what I write from their's but thanks for the heads up. Also whoever referred me to the Space Empires V, oh that was you frogboy, well thank you ever so much. The demo is not even playable, lol. At least on WIN XP, I haven't considered reverting to WIN 98 to see, but maybe some day I will lol. Until then I'll just beat the dead horse that is MP galciv 2 feel free to ignore me. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/BigSmi

I did unlock the post. I feel pretty strongly that as long as people aren't actually personally attacking other people that we should try to be hands off and encourage people to talk about what they want to talk about. I commend you for keeping the discussion open and democratic for all, something on other forums that has not happend, i.e. mods don't like discussion that they have already read bits and parts of elsewhere. LOL. If we (Stardock) can't adequately defend a position

Let me see if I understand this, feel free to correct me where I am wrong, Brad Wardell, creator, master CEO wanted to see a 66% or better yes vote to doing multiplayer when sampling a group that was predisposed to a single player exprience? R we really to believe that he believed that he'd ever get a number like that out of a poll on here? "MP won. However, Brad commented at the time that he wouldn't do multiplayer with that result, since he wanted at least a 66% win for MP to make it

Your guns can never be too big, you can never have too many tanks. Words of wisdom. Same for starships lol.

I wish the aspect of constructor management was traded more for fleet management, so instead of building constructors, build your initial starbase with a constructor and let the starbase do it's own upgrading duh it is a starbase right? Not the Something armed with the Devastation beam should have more power generation and manufacturing capacity then the "Mir" LOL. Anyway, then the challenge would be to provide logistical support, I like how the starbases allow you to expand your trave

"It's really about the resources" I completely agree. "MP is never a bad thing to have." I disagree, there are many cases where MP is bad, when it is implemented poorly, when it is thrown in at the last moment, when it does not drastically improve the gameplay exprience, if it doesn't generate more sales/buzz about the game, if it doesn't revolutionize and build upon the exprience of a SP exprience. These are all bad situations, pitfalls where going MP with a piece of gaming softwa

I'll add more about "studies" or surveys as well, first thses so called statistics. In order for you to have an accurate as well as representitive poll of users. You need to sample a representitve "group" the people who are interested in this game now, at this point and after reading up on GALCIV2 and finding out that it isn't MP are a large group indeed. Your polls of the members of the forum, though they may be accurate, they are also not representive of the general public that might

If you guys have ever played time of defiance you probably know that 10 min between destinations is way too long for it to be fun. I hope they plan on making that the slowest possible speed and faster gameplay. Strategic gameplay doesn't have to mean slower then glacier ice pacing. Just slow enought to make decisions and execute at a paced rate not frantic. But going to slow will make this a hamster wheel. We'll have to see how it turns out. Hopefully they're be a demo? Please.

Hey STARDOCK, I'll be another one requesting a toggle option to turn off the saving of ships from previous games. The feature doesn't help. The more games you play, the worse the shipyards get. Nice idea, poor execution.

I'd pay good money to be able to play against the mind of another person instead of the stupid, 1 inch depth of the shallow AI... Be able to use the engine/mechanics of the game to strategize/politicize/cooperate/consolidate/trade/coerce/manuipluate other players. Line em up against each other, or allied with me. Break hard deals to keep em out of my galatic space. Maybe play cooperatively, teaming up against the stupid AI or against stronger human players, of whom I have no hope of beating on m

"The military strength calculations are majorly flawed. I was playing Terran engaged in a war with the Torian mid-game. They had many fleets, much outnumbering me. However I had a few giant ships (around about eight) that were tanked out at 30 damage, 30 defense and 40 hitpoints each. The Torians were fielding fleets that did about 4 damage per ship with no defense and 6 hitpoints. After about half a year (game time) of slamming the Torians (I wasn't keeping track but I took no casualties while

I think you guys dismiss multiplayer gaming too easily. Sure it's easier to build and implement a single player platform of design and it takes resources to adapt what is grounded as a single player exprience and make it a smooth and well implemented MP exprience. For it to be a success both economically as well as creatively and contribution to game design and advancing cooperative and competitive entertainment, there has to be excellent implementation. The average gameplay of a game l

meklar maybe your browser isn't compatible with something in 2006 if you're still running an operating system from 1998! I disagree with your claim that MOO2 is better then GALCIV 2. Deeper in some areas yes, better, um not really, more nostalgic yeah, but Galciv 2 has some great things going for it, the interface is one of em, lets hope they keep adding depth and more things that can be done, more way to compete with the AI.

Pull your head out of your ass and think about why they've limited it to the square route. 1. It's lesser then the linear route i.e. 1 pop pt = $1 10 pop pts = $10. 2. It's easier for keeping an economy in balance using the sliders 3. It keeps the AI more competitive cause nothing you can do can instantly shift the economic power in your favor overnight or over the course of even a game year. If they'd gone linear games would be much shorter plus you and the AI
