I wouldn't buy a multiplayer expansion, because it wouldn't be of any use to me, but most anything other expansion you put out would be "preorder on announcement" for me just like Twilight was.

Its not that we dont understand, its just that most of us are perfectly fine with graphics that are less than state of the art as long as gameplay makes up for it. I'd go one more and say that, in a TBS game, I'd prefer that the resources of the developers were put towards depth of gameplay and quality of AI in lieu of wasting the game budget on eye candy. Time, resources, and money are not infinite, the resources expended to make the game pretty (a
No, he's not. It's pretty clear hentaur's more interested in eye candy and fast clicking than deep gameplay and thought. I suspect that DOES put him in the gamer majority these days, though, sad as that is.
I bought EaW awhile back, played it for a week, and sold it. The game, for me, was much too shallow and repetitive. I enjoy a strategic layer on an RTS (Rise of Nations and Dawn of War Dark Crusade are my favorites of the genre for this reason) but the lack of unit diversity (partly a result of being straight-jacketed by the Star Wars universe) almost rendered it moot. The economic model, unit flexibility, AI, diversity of enemies, galaxy size, research model, and just about everything else in E
It sure is a great business when you can con customers into paying in advance for a game that you have not yet developed. Would you ever pay for land or food without seeing it first. There is one born every minute they say! So wait, if I pay $50 for it now, get to play it while it's being developed, have a say in the end product, and get a copy of the end product when it's done I'm a sucker. On the othe
This is an old request, but can you guys implement some sort of audio player that allows us listen to our own music in galciv2? The music is boring, to be frank. Does anyone here really like the music in this game? Be honest.... Why wouldn't you just start up your MP3 player in the background and turn the in game music off? I've got no problem with the in game music but when I feel like listeningto something else
Atheists shouldn't you be trying to help advance science Even scientists need some down time, you know.
But the atheist have logic on their side. THere is no evidence for any deity so the default position is atheism. Case in point. The funny thing is, I don't disagree with any of this, but it's also in no way useful to the discussion. Religious folks read it (I think rightly) as an attempt to convert them, become defensive, and return in kind. Other non-religious people see the religious people attacking the poster, see that they agree with the poster, and
Having to produce spies, as in BTS, is actually MORE micromanagement than the DA system IMO. I do, however, approve of the idea of passive counterintelligence.
It sounds like, once they have a general MP infrastructure constructed for Society, they plan to implement it in future titles (since a pre-existing MP structure means they don't have to expend a lot of time and resources on adding the feature and can continue to produce a high quality SP experience). I get the sense that means GC3, which is fine since GC2 isn't well designed for MP anyway.
The short answer is that it's impossible to discuss religion in an open forum without people turning up who, rather than exploring the beliefs of others, are solely interested in converting others to their own. This is true of both religious individuals and the more enthusiastic non-believers, both sides have their share of militant evangelicals. The cloak of anonymity provided by the internet allows for generally less civil behavior than a face to face conversation, which serves to exacerbate t
I prefer SD to the alternatives, which in my view are: 1) CD copy protection. It's nice not to have to worry about swapping out discs to play the game, and it's nice not to have to find the discs to install. 2) A more draconian online registration system, like Steam. I appreciate that SD doesn't have to run every time I want to run the game. 3)No cd protection AND no registration system, which means no incentive for anyone to legitimately purchase the game. Since I l
You guys do great work, I'll go ahead and preorder this. Keep up the awesome work!
Who would publish a game without multiplayer in 2007? Lots of indie developers produce fantastic games but choose not to expend the resources and time to include MP because, frankly, it serves a minority of the user base.
Wow what are you guys smoking? Tilted Mill made Pharoah, the single best city/civ builder ever.. bar none. That game is a classic. No, they didn't. They made "Children of the Nile," which was a crappy Pharaoh rip off with 3d graphics and weaker game play. Pharaoh was made by Impressions Games. Some of the members of Impressions moved to Tilted Mill when that studio closed, but nothing Tilted Mill has produced has been anywhere near as good as the old Imp
A lot of men are married to women that are simply wrong for them, and vise versa. Personally the only problem I have with my wife and gaming is her occasionally hogging the computer/console I'd like to be playing with. We play games together, we play games seperately, it's just another leisure activity. Together time is important, time to yourself is important, how one spends the latter is their own business.
No offense, but if any of my old gaming buddies were still close enough that they could come over to my place to play a game, we'd be playing board games, not computer ones. For me the whole purpose of a PC game is to provide entertainment when gaming with friends isn't available.
MP would be useless to me, so any expansion pack where that was the primary addition wouldn't be worth buying IMO.
This is why sell phones make lousy watches. Get a wrst watch or put a clock on your desk, in -game clocks are fine and all but such a thing should never be a "necessity."
Just run it windowed but at your full desktop resolution. It will still look full screen, but will alt+tab without problems.
note the absence of stardock dev comments on this thread If ever one needed evidence that people can find a way to bitch about anything on the internet, here it is. Yes, the $5 coupon was in fact an evil conspiracy to trick you into filling out the survey. The devs didn't comment earlier because that would have blown the cover on their diabolical scheme. You are incredibly clever to have foiled their villainous plans, congratulations.
I'll third the Space Rangers 2 recommendation, it's what I used my coupon for. Fantastic game so far, reminds me of great games of a bygone era like Starflight and Star Control 2.
I usually have all routes go to one large, economically valuable world and then surround that world with econ star bases loaded out with trade modules. I certainly always SEEM to make a good bit of money off of trading (I tend to play on large or huge maps), sometimes it's as much as 1/3 of my economy.
Having complete control of the skies above your opponent's planet SHOULD be a huge advantage.
Without question. DA's AI is better, the new options create greater gameplay variety and replayability, and support for DA (and thus the addition of new features) is ongoing.
