If the basic act of programming doesn't excite you, then you're probably not as effective at it as someone who is excited by it. Just like if running a buisness isn't something that interests you, you shouldn't become a buisness owner. Or if politicking and exchanging power chits doesn't excite you, you probably shouldn't run for office. Allow

Yep, in Beta 3 since they changed the abilities it's possible (say in a current campaign) to have spent more points than is allowed. I shouldn't be let onto the next screen until the number is no longer red.

IMO, Sentry should become Sleep and Guard should wake on hostile ships. Oh, and you can't bump your own posts, it doesn't work.

1) Stardock and the having to sign on business. Can't stand it. Whatever happened to buying a game and being able to just play it with your friends ? Which brings me to point 2: You don't have to sign on, you can install and play without ever going online. If you want to patch the game, then you need

Yeah, bad idea on the forcing of driver updates, I often wait because each driver breaks as many games as it fixes, and if it breaks one I play I won't update. Rather, have an in-game error report tool which doesn't allow someone to report a problem unless all their drivers are up to date.

I beat Siege using morale, soldiering and population growth abilities combined with the populist party. With Beta 3 and its "spread" of abilities, I suspect this mission is somewhat harder. I got lucky when I re-took a planet and stool Doom Beam from the dread lords I was in the process of re-taking the galaxy when they defeated the Dregin (who now held the planet I needed) and they

1 and 2: No idea. Be more picky with what you build. Because humans never make mistakes, and the galaxy never changes in a way that requires you to rethink and refocus your planets. Oh wait... Simply put, you will want to delete things, and deleting things should be as easy as possible, and since there's a key on the keyboard (and s

I'd love to be able to see a breakdown of the AIs in the metaverse. You know, how many games they've won, lost, what level it was at, who their opponents were... perhaps score them in some way (reversing the difficulty system that players use?) so we could see which AIs come out top of the pile

Now if Stardock would fix the HUGE ship combat imbalance. Last weekend I completed the Dread Lords Apocalyse Mission on level Tough on Nov. 8, 2227. I destroyed 209 ships and only lost 3 non-combat ships (the scout from the game's start and the other two I think were freighters). It does not matter how powerful the enemy's weapon

Forgive me if I'm missing something, but isn't a team something that cannot be broken, and if one person on the team wins you all win (sorry if I'm off on this)? In that case, shouldn't they be throwing tech at me every time they make a breakthrough? Shouldn't teams be negociating which research paths they'll follow to maximise their output?

As you say in your post, Brad, don't download a beta unless you know the risks involved. Unfortunately, SDC defaults to revealing Alpha and Beta builds, and therefore anyone loading SDC is offered a beta update which they probably won't know is a beta update. If you want to reduce the problem reports I'd make that option default to OFF.

Basically, miniturisation is shown on the build screen not through smaller components, but through a larger hull. @Dewwar It sounds like 1 was fixed according to the Beta 3 changelog (note the fix about incorrect style on the appearence screen). I'm gonna take a stab in the dark with 4 and say that the upgrade screen is telling me how many modules are available according to my level of tech, while the details screen is the real restriction on how many I can have

It doesn't seem like it, but I'll keep the list going . Since some of thesse (like number five) are potential bugs, I'm moving it to the bugs forum. 47. When you select a race all racial abilities should use a different colour or be marked in some way, that way you know what you're getting (since the rest is entirely configurable).
