Each race has abilities built into it which don't count against their points allocation. When selecting custom race and reseting the point score, I was left with things like Soldiering +25. Is there any way to override this with unique settings of my choosing, since it seems to me that it's not really a custom race if you can't change things like that,

When selecting a race from the race screen, I really only want to see what racial abilities they have, but unfortunately because some points have already been spent the racial abilities listed are not really their unique racial abilities, instead you need to go into each race and hit reset, and only then can you see what is unique to them. I'd rather that by default all 10 points were available to you and the only abilities allocated to a ra

1. If I hit reset on a race's ability screen and then flick back to the first tab, sometimes all their abilities will still be listed and going back to the ability tab I find that my reset has been undone. Hitting reset and then selecting something and THEN changing back to the first tab resolves this problem. 2. I reset the Drath and changed to the first tab to see what their racial bonuses were. One was +25 Diplomacy. Changing to the

As stated earlier, an "expansion" using the alternate method only works if it's basically GalCiv 2 version b i.e. The same, yet different. Guild Wars is doing this, and by making ANOTHER game, yet one that's similar and having the two interact, you can justify full price. Their "expansion" is in fact a stand alone game that plugs into their previous game. That's the only way the alternate method will work. Go traditional, you don't have t

I use Mozilla Firefox 1.5.1 and it works with the Metaverse fine. How many times have you tried to do this? Once can simply be a packet getting lost along the way and one machine sitting there waiting for it to arrive.

Also, I'm still getting perm LOS around planets I lose in the campaign. Playing Archilles Heel which I reached in Beta 2 but restarted under Beta 3, and when I lose a planet I don't lose LOS around it.

I was playing the mission archilles heel and had a trade route from my world to the Yor homeworld. This involed a line going east, then north-east past the Altarian capital and then east again. However, any freighter travelling this route would go north-east one space sooner than the line showed.

Okay, I played this one on Tough during Beta 2. I'll recount my third game after my first two failed experiments. Note that the changes to racial abilities means you won't be able to exactly duplicate this. I played without any reloading and purely with the setup given to me in my third attempt (first attempt I teched, my allies were getting whooped, my ships were too weak and I died. Second attempt focused on soldering, but not morale and pop growth). Most of my starting bonus tiles were 1

Problem with that, as noted, is that factories can end up at the bottom of the queue when really you'd want them at the top, and then why upgrade an entertainment centre before a farm if you've got high morale, etc.

I went there and looked over the forum list and didn't see a forum for it. Check again I guess EDIT: Nope, still not seeing a forum for it. Got a link?

That's a very interesting idea. Do you know which games did this? It woudl be interesting to check out how they implemented that. Well, DirectX would be pretty much any and every 3D game, mainly RTS and FPS. I don't recall encountering the later, but I'd bet money it's a new FPS.

I'm sure I'm not the only one with thoughts and comments on Stardock Central, for example the issue of it enabling the "download betas" option by default, yet there appears to be nowhere to make posts concerning it. May I suggest an SDC forum?

You seem to have this chip on your shoulder with regard to multiplayer games. Where does that come from? It's not a chip, it's that he's the AI guy. People want multiplayer because Ais usually become too easy to beat or too predictable pretty quickly. If you could make an AI that walked like a human and talked like a human then the wish for
