Bah, warming shwarming. I look out my window at the chavvy kids sitting outside, drinking, swearing, and discarding their trash in my front garden while they poke fun at passers by, and I wonder why I should do anything to make the world a better place for their generation. You can't save the planet forever, because one day the sun's going to eat it anyway. Might as well admit defeat and enjoy ourselves while we can. Besides, we could get hit by an asteroid or invaded by lizard people

This isn't probably a Mega Event......It would be cool if you could add a new type of Constructor to the game which I'm thinking could be a Shipyard Constructor. How handy would it be if you could send off an Shipyard Constructor to some far off spot on a map and set up a Shipyard to start churning out ships. This kinda thing should be used for pirates.... "Space Construction" could be an offshoot of Space Mining

Hi all! Don´t get me wrong - but, please "fix" this "speed limitation"-mega event. Give us some tech to research, to bring back the "normal" ship travel speed. It is very boring to play a large or gigantic map, when only travel with 5 parsecs/m is possible. For me this is the reason to play without megaevents. A great step would be, to choose between some megaevents wich could occur by random - before starting the game. Well, i know, my post is not th

The expansion contains: - Asteroid Fields (mining them boosts production) - New Spy System (allows you to slow your enemy's production and research) - ~Optional~ Mega Events (random events that have huge effects on the game) - Hostile Environments (new techs are needed to colonize certain planets) - Super Abilities (each race has one, and each has a big effect on how they play) There might be more... I'm a bit sleepy...

I see there's still no definition here of what poverty is so we all know we're talking about the same thing. I think its pretty safe to say though, that if you have food, water and a place to live, you are not in poverty.

SO much effort went into the new spy system that I doubt they will change it much now. However, for GC3 I would like to see something different: I think you should be able to spend money on spying on individual races, as before, but it should just be a flat fee. Either you invest the money or not. The money it costs depends on the size of their empire, and the amount of cash they invest in security. (You should also be able to invest in your own security). What spying should

I noitced screenshots from that scenario and GC2 was my first thought, lol. I don't think it will affect sales. I mean, they released a MOO scenario for Civ 2, and then MOO3 came out... and... oh, bum.

Frogboy, does CariElf beat you with a stick every time you open one of these ideas threads? Yes! Sounds like you enjoy it a little too much. <img

There are several different kinds of AAR's: 1. Story AAR - This AAR is mostly fluff. A story is generated using the events of the game 2. Scientific AAR - This AAR is often about strategy and how the game mechanics are used. 3. Casual AAR - This AAR is about the users experience of the game and is often humourous. I think the PC Gamer article fits into category 3, which is by far my favourite kind of AAR. Frogboy's reports often fits into category 2, which is

How come so many people get the Dread Lords all the time? I've only had that event happen once, and then they just sat there and didn't build anything. My current game is on a huge galaxy and all of the planets were colonized ages ago. Oh yes, and spore rox.

It would be fun if it was some kind of scenario, where the races could be given a balanced set up. Don't forget that the races have different advantages. A race built for expansion would be penalized by starting the game in that way, while a slower race with a production bonus would have an advantage.

You know those little bonuses you get when you uncover an anomaly? You know, the "+1 soldiering" bonuses and things like that. I think as well as providing a bonus, they should be represented by 1 unit of a minor trade good. I think you should be able to trade units of minor trade goods away to other civilizations. For instance, a civilization trying to use influence to take over the universe might pay a higher price for goods that provide +1 influence. If you have goods providing

If you want to try something different, don't bother with colony ships. Once I played a successful game where I didn't build any more colony ships after the first. I threw myself into research, and got to planetary invasion. I think I took out the Thalans and Drath before they even had defenders. The other races began to catch on, but I had caught up in planets by then, and already had a tech lead on weapons.

1) the one where the whole galaxy gets mixed up (i do have to say that I mentuioned this on the thread for what we'd like to see in a futrure expansion.. ok i'm done patting myslf on the back) I guess that makes two of us.

Ooh, I've just thought of another one: Curse of MOO3 The game changes to a page of sliders, allowing you to set preferences like: War Peace, Attack Defend, Research Build. Then you just sit back and keep pressing end turn to watch the game play itself.

Sorry... what? I'm not sure I get it. So, the enemy ship can kill 7 of yours, but if you go 1 on 1, then you win? Why don't the other ships fire their weapons? Is that a bug?
