On the topic of hardpoint problems, I keep getting an error when removing a component from the long terran cargo hull. It's the hardpoint in the middle of the three on the back side. If i have a component on either hardpoint next to this one and try to remove the one in the middle, I get an error about it having something attached.
Even those class four planets can fit two labs and they need a factory to upgrade themselves. Yea, and then upgrade the factory into something useful. Or, not build a factory because each colony comes with an initial colony let it do the work. I used to start my games with buying a factory first thing, but now i usually buy an entertainment ne
Are you sure this isn't a human flaw in planet utilization? I've noticed that if i put a factory onto a rare 700% bonus that my production for that planet shoot through the roof (ya ofcourse). While it may look like a good thing, i've also notice some problems arise on that planet. My global spending becomes imbalanced, and I tend to waste more. The AI can micromanage much better than most people really could/should care about (unless it's funtfor you to spend a few hours thinking about each ind

I believe that software piracy must come to an end and that StarForce and the likes are necessary. And if you're wary of StarForce then you don't even want to think about TCPA.... Imposible. Many people/groups crack games as a hobby, not because they wanted a free game. The harder the protection, the more the thrill, and the more enjoyment the
X2 had Starforce removed in a later patch, as said in the link i provided to the boycott starforce site. This topic (Original thread topic) is all the rage right now. Everyone is backing up Stardock, even on the starforce forums!
where can i find a list of games that use starforce? want to make sure i dont buy or play in the future. http://www.glop.org/starforce/
What I think is ironic is that some games i've bought can't be played because of all the copy protection involved. I have to download a pirated version and pirated cracks just to play a game i paid for! I loved X2, and long awaited getting X3. Sadly, I don't plan on ever getting X3 because of Starforce.
Nice! Empire at War kinda Failed for me in longterm enjoyment. It'd be great to have your designs in this awesome game to give it a StarWars feel
It seems that no matter the outcome of the Darkness Rising campaign mission, you move onto Seige. If you win, Seige is the next in line. If you lose, the alternate mission is also... Seige?! From what I can tell, Seige starts out the same with either path. Is this a bug and there should be a different mission for if you fail Darkness Rising?
And once the AI starts escorting it's colony ships? All it takes is 1 shot for your most likely rather expensive Cargo Ship of Doom to be vaporized. A small addition to the AI to protect it's vulnerable shiptype during wartime is all that's needed to severely reduce the effectiveness of this "exploit". cargo hulls really shouldn't be allowed to mount weapons</TD
Jeysie, I think your stuff is easier to read, compare and navigate than the Galactopedia. Good job
Got this event twice just now Site contains no popups. All that is on it is the screenshot (resized and compressed )and Mog (cuz Mog rocks).
After looking through some things, it seems missiles also don't scale as much as the others i think. This means missiles have a much greater benefit on the large hull ships than compared to the small ships. Thanks for all the input in this matter everyone.
Why do missiles have a larger size and higher cost than beam/mass driver of similar type? Alternately, Missile defense seems to have the smallest size at a higher cost. What offsets this seemingly imbalance of missiles compared to the other weapons types?
Depending on how many logistics you start with, getting 3 cargos into a fleet would take an extra research that might be well suited elsewhere. Annoying having 14 logistics and having to wait for that next logistics just to fit a 3rd trooper transport into the fleet.
If you use the cargo hull for transports then colony ships can be upgrade into transport ships. The troop module is a little smaller but costs just a bit more. The adv troop module that holds twice as many troops is quite a bit smaller, but costs a lot more. With a lot of engines, it's speed might make up for lack of hp/weapon/defense.
Economy and Morale. The more money you have, the more you can do. That and they work unlike a few.
Maybe starbases and ships are all automated? You don't lose any population when either of them are detroyed (less you have a colony/troop module).
I don't like this change at all. It doesn't make much sense to me. If the problem is finding small parts among all your jewelry, then why not just add a button in the ship design ui to remove all non-jewelry pieces. You could even just change the way clear works to remove non-jewelry instead of adding a new button. I mean if you think of upgrading as oop inheritence, it's like all non-jewelry pieces are now private members instead of protected but jewelry pieces are still protected. Why split th
If you turn on the ownership option of the minimap, you can see where every race is at even if you haven't explored that are or met them. This doesn't feel right, as unknown parts of the map should be completely unknown.
In my first huge game that i'm currently playing, i'm just ending colonization the phase. I did very slow tech, 9 normal AI, abundent planets and stars (scattered). Besides the few 4-6 class planets left, almost every planet is colonized. I had a colony ship on the opposite side of the small section that was left to colonize. By the time it could cross the map to reach a habitable planet, that planet would surely be taken. There was one planet (unexplored) nearby that was bordered by 3 other rac
How far ahead in techs did you become be rushing to larger ships? There are many viable options in GalCiv2, and that helps make it a great game.
The Yor were constructed by the Iconians. The Dread Lords reprogrammed the Yor to hate all organic life. What the campaign says and what IGN has differ somewhat though.
