Wasn't that part of the original trilogy of GalCiv? On TBS, one RTS, and one other? (I forgot the details). If I remember rightly, that was when he was writing the original script years ago, and the idea since changed to a trilogy of 4X. Err... I think so anyway.

If you want to use the crappy cheat method, go ahead and use the crappy cheat method. If you want to go around saying "it's really easy to do", go do darwinism a favour and play in the traffic.

He wasn't exploiting, he was expirimenting while emailing Cari his findings on a daily basis, and keeping us up-to-date in the IRC. He's the reason that Stardock can catch exploiters, because he figured out ways to completely obliterate the AI and maximise the score. More info is uploaded, but cheats weren't involved. He simply figured out the EXACT scoring mechanism, and ways to stop the AI working effectively. I still have his findings on my computer somewhere. Shame he was f

I meant the special sceneraio's you can choose from when starting the galaxy. Normal, Iconian Revenge, Total War etc etc. I think there;s a good v evil one, but it does force you into playing as the Terran sadly. Either way, it's certainly doable, I just can't remember how to actually mod it :/

Doesn't the good v evil scenario, which does exactly that and has been implemented since GC2 release, work anymore?

Beta's have been posted in previous builds. I think kryo test-posted a DA alpha a while back. DethAdder, if someone rockets up the scoreboard, unfunf figured out the exact scoring mechanisms waaaaaaaaaaay back before leaving the forums due to jealous jackasses. Stardock know if someone is exploiting, because they can tell whether or not the score is possible.

Wouldn't work. A spinoff from the viewpoint of the individual generals would work though, and be quite good.

No, they should show automatically, I think. Nothing you build or do affects whether they show, but stations will change your influence and where they show.

It's nothing to do with territoty, it's the influence of your race. Nothing to do with research or buildings either, it's just a graphical representation

Multiplayer and intelligent opponents rarely go hand in hand, imo. Also, the demo is completely outdated, since then a large amount of new features have been added in the free patches and more coming in via DA. I also disagree with you on ship building. GC1 had specific ships. If you honestly thing that multiple weapon types and the ability to manually configure a ship for speed, all out offence, or to be a tanking behemoth is something that is a "surface" improvement, then per

A maxed out military starbase network is a great way to secure regions of space. But I don't really use them on the front line, too much chance of losing them. I have them in areas near key worlds and key assets normally.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY back. It got scrapped way back too. Hazy on the details. FYI, a gundam total conversion would be nigh-on impossible, as, for reasons listed, the gc2 universe is a completely different setting.
