32 bit mode is fine, as long as they run i don't care. but i remember wb6 wouldn't run at all in vista x64 at the start. so thats what i'm trying to avoid.
its worked fine for me since the pre release beta they had.
i understand those 2 are now working, what about the rest of the OD suite?
Sound Packager works, SKS6 beta works, DeskScapes and TweakVista. There are a few others that work. Not all are native 64bit (some in 32bit mode, like SKS6 for example).
windowsblinds i was told it would work with 64bit when version 6 was released, but still no 64bit support. is stardock taking cue's from sony? lol
it does and has worked, it has some problems though. theres also a beta of iconpackager that works with vista x64

Yeah the beta version on SDC works on x64 without problems, only drawback is its in x86 mode because there is no native 64 bit addition. :) (Meaning it uses 50% more memory than it would if it had native x64 support)
If its not for you... back button. I make skins for Vista and XP, Its none of your business what excuses or justification I use or Brainiac. This is our business and as such we will treat it accordingly..on our terms.
I had already finished it in my first post, it was revived 3 or 4 times by YOU GUYS. I said I have no interest in it.
Its Ir's decision whether to make it XP only or Vista too.. quit pushing it. Your hijacking the thread for no reason. Its an XP s
Yes that was well established, im simply saying that I do not find what im seeing here to be acceptable, especially for a blind thats going to be payware. Perhaps for XP users it is, I just don't get why people use "20% of people who come here use Vista" as an excuse. People have posted the numbers of visitors an

Look a that, the tabs in IE are flat out ugly, the nav bar is bright green and you cant even read the text on the folder location, what is acceptable to you clearly is not to me. Oh and I don't mean that part of the sound, click on the icon, not only does it have a nice big black like to the right of the trackbar but their is no frame around it like Aero has. I have tried it, downloaded it when the new version was up, it was applied a whole 3 seconds. And I agree with you,
Is it that parts of the WB won't work or more technical then that? Again it looks pretty darn good in reply #264.
You arent seeing the explorer (unskinned, ugly) and IE (default tabs, yeah they fit well). Yeah it looks nice with a taskbar, start menu and window frame, but you don't see anything else there do you?
Hmmm, interesting that you can find alot of new skins being made, that although not specificly made for Vista, will run on it. Take alook at reply #264, seems to work. What might be the limitation.
If I wanted to use XP based skins I'd use XP, not Vista. There are certain elements that look ugly as it is with WB6 (thumbnail previews, volume mouseover, system clock), I don't really need to add onto it.
good job 80% + of WC traffic is still on XP
And? That 20% isnt exactly a "small" amount of people you know, and that number will only get larger over time. To be honest I never really expected this theme to be fully Vista compatible so its really not too shocking that its not happening, just disappointing.
oh yeah and that RAM usage fluxuates drasticly at times...i cranked up the machine once and it ran smooth as a babies bottom using 600mb of RAM...but eventually it froze again and then was back up to the usual RAM hogging ways...XP pro i have runs at like 400 mb..........is Vista home premium suppossed to use 750 to 1 gig of RAM? can someone tell me please?
Your system really isnt using that much ram, its called Superfetch and it makes programs you use mostly load and wo
Testers are reporting XP performace is improved by 10% with SP3 while Vista SP1...not so much.
Yeah, Service Pack 3, its not like they haven't had 7/8 years to work on the OS?
The ME2 comparisons usually have to do with marketing and usability, not with the actual guts of the O/S.
It's not marketing, its more like slander if you ask me. I don't see anyone marketing ME2, the only place ive seen people use that analogy is is on this very site.
I found it quite ammusing that even the Mac commercials are mocking Vista now
Mac commercials mock everything but fail to say anything about their own OS. I don't think people are going to switch from Windows to OS X based solely on the purpose that Steve Jobs says Windows sucks.
