Nice Article! I can relate to what you said about students hating writing....I taught 4th grade for three years, and at the end of the school year, students were so happy that they didn't have to do TAKS writing anymore....I have been teaching 5th for a few years now, and the kids come to me with that same attitude: looking at writing with dread....I have lightened up Writing for them this year, however. We do a lot of independent writing, we do d

Is there any way you can both spend time apart without actually breaking up? Maybe that can help you think things over...who knows..maybe being away from him for a while might help you see things more clearly....might help you realize whether you really want and need him in your life or not. best of luck to you both.

Of course nothing's wrong with you...I know lots of people don't think so, but teaching is a very challenging profession..not everyone can do it...takes a special person....I know "going back to high school " seems strange to you, but you will be on the other side now....you will be able to influence kids in a good way, share your wealth of knowledge, get them as passionate about writing and reading as you are...sure the pay sucks and we deserve more

hey...I think that's great....a mom shouldn't be stereotyped, and women shouldn't have to be pressured to present themselves in a certain type of way just because they have children...you can still be a good mom AND look good...I know I'd like to be a pretty hot (and cool) mama myself someday lol

I relate to a few things you said; I wish I had more personal way of sharing them (since I am not yet comfortable publicly blogging about certain circumstances going on in my life).

~"Oh, I agree with you. Also, brown haired people should only marry brown haired people, blonds with blonds, red heads with red heads, large nose people with large nose people, and most of all people with a mole on their cheek should really stick to marrying other people with a mole on their cheek - and the same cheek too! It's just so unnatural otherwise!"~ lol pax I am glad to hear your father is doing fine...but the article, even

How sad for those kids...what kind of attitude are they going to have about school if their own teacher has a bad attitude about things... I so completely believe in making students comfortable with me....I don't know if people would interpret that as being "soft"...I do discipline my students and they know what is expected of them, but not to the point where they are intimidated of me and are constantly criticized.... it's too bad that you h

I feel as if I communicate better through writing than i do through verbal communication...it has always come naturally to me... it's funny to read about how you would invent stories as a youngster because I would do the same thing... My first writings were a silly little poem that didn't rhyme very well, and a story about a boy with a magic hat...lol... I also wrote a who

sounds like a nice step forward...reminds me of when i would have paralyzing panic attacks (I dealt with this for half a year), and I didn't even want to step outside...when I finally made that trip alone to a store, it was such a big deal to me....it felt so good, and i was proud of myself....sometimes things that look so insignificant to some can be such huge steps for others...hope all those little steps start adding up for you.

I have cried a few times... I was so physically ill once that I just started weeping..needless to say , I was sent home...and it was a bit awkward because it was in front of my students....they made a get well card for me the next day, which i thought was sweet. Another time, like you...it was about "boy troubles"....lol...my b/f and I talked on the phone during a break, and we ended up arguing, and sensitive me started getting teary ey
