I'm going on a month with this on-again, off-again sore throat....lozenges and sprays no longer work..tylenol only lasts so long, and warm liquds are something I cannot do all day (wish I could). I wouldn't say I am miserable, but it is pretty close to that; it sucks....I am caving in and going to the doctor. When I call and explain my symptoms to the nurse, she say

I'm a huge music fan...sometimes falling into that trap of liking an overplayed song...Lately though, I find myself just listening to a bunch of old stuff....a few groups, singers, songs grab my attention now and then, but for the most part, the newer stuff is unimpressive....I'd rather listen to something 20+ years old that I KNOW is damned good than to listen to the supposed "in" or "cool" music of these d

When I am here and you are there, Life is missing something. I cannot see the smile on your face; You cannot see the love in mine. A call or letter cannot take the place Of a gentle stare, a stroke of the cheek, the scent of your presence. When I am here and you are there, I don't affect you as much. A quirk or laugh isn't as

My mom raised six of us by herself....of course we went through plenty of struggles, but for the most part, we have grown to be decent human beings and managed somehow without a dad and father figure around....it is possible to do this by yourself... Also, I am betting that once he sees this new confidence and independence and resolve to try a life without him, he will be regretting his decisions, words, and actions...of course, you will not

"Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere." (Letter from Birmingham Jail, April 16, 1963) "I refuse to accept the view that mankind is so tragically bound to the starless midnight of racism and war that the bright daybreak of peace and brotherhood can never become reality. I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final wor

It's nice to hear that there are kids out there who actually help out around the house, even when they are not told...many kids out there get pampered these days and have basically everything done for them.

My mother can be that way...just thinking the worst all the time, and assuming things that aren't even close to what is the truth...I think I get a bit of that from her...I never really saw it until my boyfriend pointed it out...Since then, I try to think things through before I say them....as for my mom, I have had several talks with her about how her negativity affects me and my other siblings....she's improved only a wee bit, but she has a long w
