Reply to Permissions...and what is ideally needed in Permissions WinCustomize Forums

Thanks Jafo, I had a few logons that at one time I wanted to upload but didn't know how to go about asking for pernission. If I had known that, I might have been a brave gal and had an uploaded skin, it's a moot issue now though, as I have lost them to a bad crash on my desktop(which I still can't figure out how to fix)

you probably don't want to get rid of them, they really are helpful though sometimes irritating. try what highlander suggested and see if the program has a place in it for excluding certain programs from being "scanned'. it should solve your problem. Also, check firewall/antivirus,some firewalls protect from registry changes. could have problem there, that again is easy to fix with an exclusion list or a "safe" list

Ok I have had some really great comments regarding this subject. I think what I'm going to do is start a once weekly article about some of the combinations of skins I've used. I will try to include personal experience , and some neat features of each skin and why I chose each skin to compliment the other. It is kind of fussy, but we girls need something fussy now and again, so it’ll do quite nicely in my collection. The hue of lavender thats been used is superb. ok well I'm still confused but I am gonna start what I said I was gonna do. One of the latest skins I downloaded was Dark Shine by Sunx. I am currently using Black Glass windowblind by Butch123 . Dark shine looks sharp against the black translucent skin. The reds really stand out and the graphics are very nice. I find that while I like this IP , it's not one I will use with many WBs because the red just doesn't work with

also, in some wb skins, the taskbar is clear, so if you are using a dark skin, it will shine thru and show as a black taskbar. my favorite wb is "clear" because that feature is best shown there. I change wp's every hour so it's like a new wb every time the background changes.

Ok, for some reason the newest IP app is making all my icons with jagged edges. it shows so in the preview pane and on application. it's wierd I have never had this problem with the icons before. for the record, I no longer recommend surfing the wc forums via impulse. once I opened that pandora's box, my ram usage almost topped out. it wasn't fun or pretty and while I wish I could continue to use the one program to do it all, I won't risk it anymore. here's hoping they integrate the whole thing so we can surf the whole place without suffering the heavy load

Ivan reminds me of the lady at walmart who whines and causes such a scene they give her something to shut her up. he needs to reallize this is not walmart , he isn't going to get his way just because he is loud and causes a scene. I sometimes wish there was an ignore feature for certain posters who clutter the threads with useless pissing and moaning.
