I find it very lean/quick and since I do most things using the powershell and/or command prompt anyway the 'new interface' doesn't bother me at all.
Yeah, it's just another interface to adjust to. I did notice that after running windows updates that the reboot was almost instant though. I'll be digging in to it more in the near future

(as was stated in #136) Oh, on a side note. You can pin a folder to the start screen. The traditiona

I know nothing of RT at this point...) I don't see it that way at all. F

It's obvious from the title of the thread that this is nothing but troll bait. Astonished at some of the people that bit. Everything that needed to be said on Win8 was beat to death on another thread that lasted quite some time. This one is just re-hash.

Actually, at work I have a laptop with a touch screen. It comes in quite handy especially since you can flip the screen around and use the device as a tablet. It isn't annoying at all and once again this is a thread that falls under the category of "if you haven't tried it, honestly tried it for a VALID period of time, then your statements that dictate "how it would be"... are absolutely pointless and not even worth the space that you typed them in. But of course... mi

Won't be the same at all. This is strictly a guess at this point because I've not read about it yet. I'm thinking the swipe motions are going to be difficult since you aren't touching where you are looking, which is the point of a to

As for other suggestions. The ability to skin the tiles without the need for OblyTile or some other third party alternative. I'd also like to see the tiles be able to be skinned without them showing as a "Tile". In other words, just a large png with no background. More of an Icon look instead of a square block. The trigger area can still be the square area but a transparent background for the tile would be excellent. Live tiles, I can live with the square as
may i ask what you actually do in Metro?
"Metro" or "Modern UI" whatever you wan't to call it is the exact same thing as if you "pinned" an item to your Windows 7 start menu. You are free to unpin and pin as you wish. If you want "All Programs" you just right click on the metro screen and you have that option. It isn't rocket science at all and navigating it is faster than the traditional start menu. I

I never did figure out what DOS stood for or whether 3.1 came first or Workgroup. *vague memories of 512mb and 500 mHz and a one gig Tower sold at Radio Shack for 600.00 USD*
D.isk O.perating S.ystem I believe. I think 3.1 came before Workgroups (3.11) and at one time 1 MB of RAM was waaaaay more than any of us would ever need in our lifetime.

Since the government is promoting smaller and more fuel efficient autos they are finding that miraculously, tax revenue from gasoline sales are declining. ( well duhhhhhh ). It isn't too far off that we will be taxed by the distance we drive to compensate for this loss. ( don't for 1 second think that they will give up their fuel tax either ). I see this as just a stepping stone to get to that point while disguising it as something else. No.. I don't want anything monitori
