In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints , we serve the church by holding "callings". We are "called" to serve in various capacities within our "ward" (congregation), all the way from childrens' Sunday school ("Primary") teacher all the way up to President of the Church (the head honcho in SLC). The time commitment

What that interview showed me is that Letterman really doesn't have the skills to conduct a political or current-events-oriented interview. He talks to celebs about projects, books, music, and love lives. That's his bread and butter, not hard-hitting political commentary and rhetoric. The interview went poorly, I agree. They were coming from two separate fields of study. O'Reilly gets off on punching people in the gut verbally... Letterman just ca

Final entry, barring any complications... Well, feeling good, and restarting my physical conditioning regimen over the weekend. AKA going for a jog in the AM, yo. (Due to physical inability to maintain exercise, I have put on a few pounds.) Wound sites have healed up nicely with minimal scarring. Basically just a pinprick hole and a pinching or gathering of the skin around the incisions. If I didn't know what I was looking

does anyone else find number six as sexy/hot as I do? Gee, you tell me. Absolutely marvelous. It is better to look good than to feel good... She looks good and makes me feel good. Smokin' hot. I even think Grace Park is hot for a Korean girl.

Battlestar Galactica is the best show on television! And I am very excited to have it back tonight. I, too, have my DVR set for the whole rest of the season. To answer Zoomba's questions... Which way will the baby go? The baby will be a Cylon. No doubt about it. Come to think of it, why don't the human-looking Cylons breed wit

BenUser: What makes the Abramoff scandal so serious is how severely it compromised our democracy -- the fact that big money was able to influence law makers to the extent they did. What makes lobbying in general so seriously wrong is that special interests can throw money at whores... I mean, politicians... and get them to roll over

COL Gene, you are not going to win any friends or influence any people with articles that are re-flingings of old poo. And while I appreciate the link(s) showing me where you get your information, the links also show me where you get your information. How reliable and impartial is "howbushoperates.info", anyway? Oh... my... goodness... I just started five grueling weeks in a Korean language refresher course here in suburban Baltimore. Yikes, double yikes, triple yikes. Work's not insisting that I do this; it's a "recommended course of study" since I am a "Korea-centric intel analyst". First of all, let me say that I was no great Korean li

Earlier tonight I received an email from a friend in Pennsylvania wondering how I got my government job. I had also had a conversation this afternoon with a guy at work who is in the Navy and planning to get out. He wanted some advice, too. So I sense a need... Below is the email that I sent back to my buddy Gavin. Hey Gavin,

I am very comfortable (as a single, white female) walking around areas of southeast on my own (barracks row, potomac avenue). I am surprised to hear that. Honestly I am. I was warned even before I got out here not to live in the District. Don't be swayed by the cheap housing or the proximity to hi

the UN will offer millions in "aid", but in the end, nothing will change... Just like in the "USA For Africa" 80s. In this week's interview with Bono, Time magazine quotes him as saying the millions raised in USA For Africa and Band-Aid only went to pay that year's interest payments on Ethiopia's IMF loan.

An update: T plus 10 days. The oozing from the incision sites has all but stopped. The left incision site was still "weeping", as it were, and I still have bandaids on both sides. But this morning the bandaids came off clean, so I am not as worried about blood or other post-surgical wound site fluids escaping into my undies. I am still feeling lumps to either side of the scrote, just under the incision sites. But that's normal, according to the surgical literature.

Military housing rarely has room to store it or storage that is appropriate. And, to add insult to injury, your food storage won't get shipped with your household goods. The movers won't ship "perishable" items. So you'll have to box up those 15 crates of pasta and load 'em into the back of the minivan.</f
