Can someone tell me if Office Applications, e.g,. Word, can be forced to work with Enahanced File Dialog? I tried adding "WinWord.exe" to the "Forced" section but it didn't work. Is there some trick to this or are Office applications incompatible?

Expediting a reinstall in WindowBlinds Stardock Forums

My question applies to all the Object Desktop applications. I am building a new machine and would like to expedite the re-installation of all my Object Desktop application "skins/themes". I plan on downloading a fresh version of Stardock Central then using it to download/install my selected applications. You should take the good advice given to you already and update WindowBlinds, at least, to the latest "Beta" version. As Bichur in reply #5 mentioned, put a check in both the "Show pre-release versions" and "Auto archive" boxes. You will then get the latest updated version of the program(s) AND have the ability to simply and quickly revert/restore to any of the previous versions/builds you had installed before. Although they are technically called "Beta" versions, they are actually updated "fix"

If the file you downloaded had a ".zip" extension sometimes , although not often, the author put the ".wba" file inside of the .zip file. Generally this happens when there are other files included in the download, e.g., a winamp skin, styler skin, wallpaper, etc. So, IF it is a .zip file, open it and see if the .wba file is inside. You can then simply extract the .wba file and it will then be recognized by WindowBlinds "Add skin", or you can double-click the file to install it.

I think the problem is 1) Trial version being used and 2) the downloaded skin uses per-pixel rendering. The Trial Version won't display per-pixel skins correctly other than the ones that come with the program itself.

Well, I have read others who have said essentially what you wrote, re: porting an original VS to UIS2 and then copying all the BMP's to the new UIS2, etc... However, I have never been able to figure out how to do that nor what is actually entailed in the copying over of the BMP images. I've beat my head against the wall for months trying to convert a ported UIS 1 visual style to UIS 2, including converting the bitmaps to .png, etc.. without success. You didn't mention how you are capturing your Desktop. I just tried the most elemental method, using the "PrtScn" key. So, specifically, I clicked on the Start Menu button, pressed the "PrtScn" key, opened PaintShop Pro, clicked on "Edit/Paste as new image" and voilà, everything looked as it should with the Start Menu included.

geshe: There is no ".wb3" extension. What may be happening is that XP is changing the file extension to ".wb3" from it's native extension. For example, it is a known issue that WindowBlinds files (.wba) are converted to a ".zip" sometimes when downloading them. In that situation, you simply rename the file extension to ".wba" and either double-click on it to install the WB skin or use the "Add skin" feature within the WindowBlinds GUI main window. I know this subject has been broached before and I did try, really, to find the previous thread but came up empty. So, let's have a go at it again. There is the occasional WB skin that has no "Preview" (thumbnail) in the WindowBlinds GUI. And even the name of the skin may be missing and "Unknown" is displayed for the name instead. Someone here had mentioned an easy fix for this situation by adding/changing one or two items in SkinStudio. Can that someone, or anyone else, share that fix
