It's strange that we try so hard to run away from life, and just when we think it's okay to look, we find life running away from us. ~Me

I feel somewhat fortunate and stupid. I was reading a play today while also watching the season premiere of Grey's Anatomy (so good!) when somewhere in there, I started to think. I started pondering about the fact that there are always tv shows or movies or books or people that seem to be constantly staring me in the face and saying, Enjoy life, Appreciate the peopl

Just a comment on your stats... I have always been told that it's mostly about hard work, and I believe that up to a point, but the amount that I have seen based mostly on connections has absolutely surprised and convinced me that this society works not nearly as much on hard work as it does on your networking. I think people heavily underestimate how far connections can take you with a small amount of hard work but how much harder it is to get so

For most of the day, I tend to forget that the sky exists. We spend so much of our day just looking ahead, and sometimes looking down, that we seem to take for granted the fact that the sky just always seems to be hanging up there. Even when it's snowing or raining, I use the lights to see the outline of the silver rain drops or the crystal flakes, not at the origin

I was walking home from a late-night session of hardcore studying at the library. As I walked, all I could think about was how cold it was, and how I had so much stress, and how I wouldn’t be able to get enough sleep again, and how I couldn’t wait to get home, but mostly just how freakin’ cold it was. The streets were empty, except for one guy walking in front of me

I went Skiing for the first time ever yesterday, and my experience was absolutely amazing! Before I had gone, all I heard about were stories about how people had broken bones or how badly I was going to do, but when I got out there, luckily, I was a lot more excited than I was scared. That was the confidence I needed to tear up the slopes! After only about an hour

I often wonder why people come back into our lives. So often random people will pop back into our lives, usually at the most unexpected times. I am one who firmly believes that everything in life has some reason. With this, however, I have no idea. I can't seem to figure out why certain people show up again into our lives every now and then. For instance, I had t

I love the word and always use the word genuinity. I thought it was a real word until I had to write a paper one day and I tried using it and Word kept telling me that the word was genuineness. Genuinity sounds so much better than genuineness. Keep using it anyways. :) ~Me

I can see what you're saying and it's a nice thought. However, I have found, to my experience, that sometimes forgiving others easily is not the best thing. For instance, I am one who generally forgives people all too quickly, and thus, people somewhat take advantage of that, I feel. Also, sometiemes it makes me angry that people can do as they please and act very selfish and then soon enough, everyone will forget it and forgive them. It's almost a

I think honesty is definitely very important, but I also think being honest is very different from revealing everything about oneself. I think everyone should keep some mystery about themselves letting others wonder. Also, this mystery lets you have something that's your very own. This is not to imply anything about your decision, just something to think about. Other than that, good luck. ~Me

3 quick comments: -I wonder if over time, humans will evolve so they need less and less sleep, to the point where perhaps they will need very little sleep, which brings me to my next point: -it would suck if we didn't need that much sleep, though, because personally, I think sleeping is one of the greatest activities of all time. Think about it. It is the one time in your life where life is truly yours, you aren't stressing out or having othe

This is a total shot in the dark but... Do you think you feel like there is someone or something pushing you to do certain things that maybe you don't entirely think you want to do? Like do you think there is something else you'd rather do, but since there is that someone/something pushing you to do this, you feel somewhat obligated to do this? And maybe you have the slight satisfaction of messing it up because it would prove a point to them. Yo

Although it's true that I'm not particularly appreciative of pennies, I don't think I'd want them to ever get rid of them. Remember when you were a kid, and you found a few pennies, you would feel like you've found this great amount of change. Plus, there's always the good saying "Find a penny, pick it up. For that day you'll have good luck." The penny is like the innocent, child-like side of money. Even now, I can see myself picking up a penny an

Random thought I was thinking about today: You know what I love...when I'm walking through the sun and I have to squint, and I can kind of see the sun reflecting off my eyelashes. It's like you can see the sunlight, which looks like little spheres of gold delicately dangling on the tips of your eyelashes. And then I also love walking from a really sunny part into

"She's carrying a soda can, headphones, and a book. She's coming from the pool that obviously says it's closed, and she has an annoying grin on her face. Yeah, I would get on my nerves too. Wouldn't want anyone to ruin that little bubble I live in either." Actually, I would probably be like damn that girl' s weird...and then I'd start wondering who you were and what your life was like and I would appreciate you for being one of the few people

Thanks for the comments. I read your article and loved it. In fact, I've read several of your articles before and have really enjoyed a lot of them. I suppose partly because I feel I can relate a lot to what you've written about. But I do agree, there's something about listening to music while I'm walking around that makes me feel as if I'm not part of this world and am watching it as if it was a music video surrounding me. Sometimes, I feel like

They canceled work today, but I still had to go and drop off some papers. I was really lazy about going at first, but once I walked outside the dorm, I felt somewhat relieved to be able to get away from my room. I chose to walk the path that I knew would have less people because I didn’t particularly feel like dealing with anyone. At first, I found myself walking

That's what I'm wondering myself. I'm sure there is something bigger that is broken that these material objects in a way, signify the breaking of, but I'm not sure what it is. Lately, I've found I'm starting to lose faith and hope. Maybe that's what's in a sense "breaking." I know I will not lose these completely, but right now it just feels like so much I try to believe and believe in is being challenged. I know I will continue to believe in thes

First off, I'd like to say that I couldn't have said it better myself. I think you, in a way, stole the feelings from right underneath me. You're not a loser and this is not a phase. Maybe you're just one of the few who can see yourself and just life from this other point. Many people go through life just being depressed or content with what it is they have or don't have and often, when they're upset with what they don't have, they don't really q

I guess compared to a lot of people, I know I don't have it so bad. In the long run, I know I can be thankful for so much stuff that I do (and do not) have. But, when you just feel like crap inside, that's not the only thing that can keep you sane and keep you content with your surroundings. Lately, I just feel like I'm losing or breaking everything and anything around me. I hav

Have you ever had one of those days where you just wake up and realize that you feel so confused and stuck and just a whole bunch of undiscovered emotions all rolled up into one? You don't really know where to go from there because you realize this is how you're mind has seemed to work day in and day out, but somedays you just feel you can ignore it more than other days. The worst part is that you know y
