Paul I am sorry, I didn't want to offend You personally, but it is just another stone in a big mosaic for months...

Paul... I too have never had an intent to offend you. Quite the opposite. I've been like a little kid in a candy store wanting the finished package of 64 pixel icons and whatever else you could supply. You are by far one of the best skinners that I've ever run across. In fact, the Apogee package is absolutely awesome... just disappointed when it did not have all of the various pixel sizes in the original package.

The reason for the constrant rants in this forum do not reflect on you personally. Instead, the rants are because of the constant lack of communication or miscommunication over the months and months in general with Stardock.

Thank you for responding back to us and giving us some insights... and thank you for being such an awesome skinner!

Thanks for the update Paul. Will we have to remove the old package before installing the new one? Just curious. I saw that your icons are not being used on that website I brought to your attention -- good job!! I love your work and am awaiting the update!!! You do make the best icon packages!!

I think Paul's just about done and has a bunch of new icons to boot.

BTW, we are hiring. Our biggest issue is simply lack of people to get this stuff out to you.

Brad, it is this type of open information we clearly miss most. That has been much much better in the past.

Frogboy,

Thanks for the update. Wish I had the skills to be hired by Stardock... but, I can honestly say that I'm one of the most graphically challenged people in the world. My programming skills are ok, but not what you all would need.

Jumping in here late. Just wanted to send a HUGE thanks to Paul for his work with this Icon Pack. To be honest, it has not left my desktop since I purchased it, except when I was running my Gal Civ II desktop. The update sounds amazing. I already thought the pack was well worth the money, and the update will make it even more so.

yes, but I want to say that update is still only promise...

Moletai I agree.....

Would be nice to get the update, but what would be even better is for a few here to cut Mormegil and Stardock a bit of slack....given the time/effort which went into GalCiv2, the site issues with the greater than expected demand on the servers and resources, etc. And like Brad explained, a couple of staffers left Stardock for other employment, so understaffing has been another issue.

I paid good money for Apogee also, and yeah, I'd like to have the update as well, but see no point in hounding a man who's doing his best. Given the hours Mormegil has been putting in recently, Im sure he'd appreciate being shown a little more patience so he can better concentrate on the job at hand, rather than having to do a rush job to placate impatience.

BTW....Mormegil, I have several sets of your icons and believe Apogee to among your best of works....the update will simply perfect an already brilliant package.

Mormegil (Paul),

I am sure the final product will be well worth the wait.

Outside of the missing "Network Connections" folder icon in the main Apogee folder, I see no major issues.

Perhaps if the Vista compressed icon format is creating an issue, you might release just XP formats, and update to Vista for the official release of that OS (if that is what the hold up is).

Again, love the work.

It turns out that Microsoft seams to have changed the Vista format a bit in the latest build. The Icons all work fine on XP, and work fine in vista as well, other then showing a border on the 256x256 vesion. Since most people are not running vista, I am going to go ahead and finalize this update. It should not be a problem to update them again when MS has Vistas Icon finalized.

In short the finished Iconpackaes are made, we should have them avalible to everyone in the next few days.

Thanks for the update Paul!!

Not that I've been impatiently champing at the bit while waiting or anything, but I second that....'tis great news indeed

Did I miss the release announcement?

I once quit a job, and in the resignation letter, one of the sentences was, "Don't pee on my leg and tell me it's raining." I don't know why this came to mind, but I just thought I'd share.

So Jack, what are you trying to say....that you'd never shake the dandruff out of your hair and try to convince everyone it's snowing?

I think it's a weird situation. Why say it's finished and not upload it.....It's the lie that's bordering me. I know Paul has a very busy job...and if it's lot of work (the update) I want to pay another 10 dollar or more because his wok is awsome. Tell the truth.....if Paul needs three months and wants 30 dollar for the update that's fine....it's business.....but tell us.

If Stardock continue to work like this that is fine but they will lose a good customer...

Sorry, I did not wanted to post the comment four times but the site reacted strange....

[fixed....Admin]...

Let them work. Paul is doing what we hoped, a complete icon replacement, which is beyond the promise of the initial Apogee.

yeah, my leg is DEFINATELY wet. And I don't see any storm clouds...

That can happen when you remain motionless for too long...Muttley mistakes your leg for a fire hydrant and avails himself of it.

In my case, however, it'd more likely be due to incontinence....the dogs are kept out back and I'm rarely away from my puter

*Back on topic* I'm pretty sure Mormegil is working on it and will have the update ready for release any day now....apart from lacking the energy to be impatient, I've just got a feeling it'll be our side of the horizon real soon

Hmmmm... seems that the couple of days has come and gone... again! Just like all the other promises.

Paul, you are an awesome skinner. To that, I don't think anyone of us will ever deny. Your work is always great and above the call of duty. But... I have a simple request that I'm sure many other would express as well. Either release the package or stop telling us it will be soon. This is frustrating to have all the promises of when it will be done and then see them all pass by.
