Gregory2001... it is not an issue of "growing up." It is an issue of producing a product, puting it out for sale, making promises of when it will be updated/complete, and then not making good on those promises. That has nothing to do with growing up. The company should never have offered a half completed product.

The company should never have offered a half completed product.

Or been responsible and padded the update date appropriatly.

mormegil... can you give us an est on this? or an update on how its going?

dwax... I'm afraid with an estimate or update on the project, we will still sit and wait well past what is announced just like all the other updates given over the past three months.

Well even tho these may not be complete,I still like all of mormegil's skins.and have been useing this since i bought it.

Hello Stardock ? You do still imagine You have a large user base in desktop applications and skins and not only game customers, do You ? Sometimes I am of the impression OD and TD users are forgotten. I only have to take a look at last update dates in Stardock central... Not to mention long reported and unfixed (not even hard to fix) bugs. And the next game is just arround the corner. I have been a loyal customer for years now, but this is not acceptable.

I agree with the opinion of Carl[c242]. If so will be in the future what is the reason to have OD subscription. I don't see such.

For the record, I think c242 has a good point and hope his words are heard and not disregarded.

don't mind me...just trying to get the page to change correctly.
when I clicked 'next'...comment 1 disappeared to make room for 51.

I fear this is again not listened to. I have been warning for months now, even begging... Way to go, Stardock ! NOT

I have followed this discussion and also made some comments. I'm a Stardock customer and have bought almost every product. I liked Stardock for there open communication. The posted screenshots of upcoming products and really made me feel to be part of this community. Now they are growing things are different. For instance I paid 69 dollar for ThinkDesk not a lot but I haven't got anything back for it. I own Multiplicity Professional so don't use the version that is included in ThinkDesk. 69 dollar for nothing is something.

Same with Apogee. I don't blame anybody just the new policy. I know everybody is busy but when I make a promise to a customer I have to keep that promise (In my daytime job).

Hope things will change.... It is always good to end positive. Keep up the great innovative work but also keep your promise.....

I have a feeling that our comments are not being listened to as well. Just like all the other requests that we have made in the past. The problem is that I'm sure they will make more money off of their games instead of the OD subscriptions... which is unfortunate because we have paid good money for the yearly subscriptions. Unfortunately, they are ticking off too many OD subscribers, like myself, who will never renew because of the poor communication and lack of updates. I think the most frustrating part is having all the promises made of when things would be complete, or updated, and never seeing it actually offered. Come on Stardock... wake up! Customers are getting frustrated!

Should I even start to mention the promised exclusive 2 subscriber skins for wc-subscribers (which I am also, although there would be no need to ?) per subscribe cycle. We had one for halloween.
Yeah. A seasonal skin to use for 3 or 4 days. Oh, fine. Too bad, there is not even halloween in my country... Speaking of localized errors, there is a big one in DektopX Pro ( and I purchased it when the disount wasn't offered) with german umlauts. Ignored. The problems several people reported with RightClick for months and BEGGING for a possibility to save their config ? IGNORED. Hell, I even now still lose menus and even a restore can't get them back. Should I continue ??? Don't let me, as I am getting more and more angry. I even expect the new servers to be the new excuse for lacking updates... Should it have come so far ? A clear "NO !". But Stardock has lost a very important thing : To listen partly to it's trusted customers. There are also some not so big players that have something to say... Not to mention a silent amount of foreign users. I know this is not taken seriously also, but I listen to some (who are even customers) in a german forum.

Updated Logika suite was also one promise not kept still

As much as I've always tried to stand up for Stardock and it's products when I've seen and heard them being put down or discussed incorrectly, I fear that this "gaming" trend has taken over. I'm not and never will be any type of gamer (heck I don't even play Windows Solitaire). I understand that SD also is a game maker and that's part of their revenue, but if the icon package wasn't complete when released and available for purchase, StarDock should honor their word of when it was stated that those that paid for the package would have the full thing. If the update isn't possible due to other demands on the artist or company, Stardock should post in the public that the full release/update is going to be held off and a possible new date for release stated. To leave customers (that's people that already paid for an incomplete package) like mushrooms (in the dark), isn't an acceptable action and I'm now starting to doubt my own faith in the company. With the loss of faith comes the loss of revenue........

It is not only Logica, nearly all the suites in the shop are hopelessly outdated. But still purchasable. And if the update comes rushed and with only the most neccessary icons again (heck, the skinplant packs sold in the shop didn't even have an icon for program groups nor any filetypes, you remember ?) I will skip it.

Public ralations have been much better in the past Brad, so what happened ?

Well, personal and friendly mails or chats didn't work also... Believe me, I've gone a long way to here.

Carl... I agree... I've e-mailed multiple people about this issue along with tech support and sales saying that I feel cheated out of my money for a half completed project. This forum at least received some feedback in the past directly from mormegil. Just too bad we haven't heard anything lately!

I agree also with Carl....

I know this thread has grown beyond simply the Apogee Icons, Many of these issues are outside my preview, and I am sorry if people feel like they are not being treated well. I can only speak for myself however.

I can however let everyone know what is going on with the Apogee icons.  Monday I finished up the 1.1 version of the Apogee, The package now sports over 150 file types, and every other supported package Icon. As well as the original 15 sub packages.

I have also re-compiled all the Icons to include 16x16, 24x24, 32x32, 64x64, 72x72, 96x96, 128x128, and 256x256. Icon size.

I have however ran into on bug in Vista Icon support and have decided to wait until we get this ironed out before we officially launch the package. This should be pretty quick, hopefully in the next day or so.

As for why the update was so long in coming, there are several reasons, those of you who are angee wont care, but just for the record. Let me fill in a few blanks.

First off, for the last 4 or 5 months I have been working 10, 12, 14, 16 hour days. On GalCiv2. I wanted to make sure that we had the best looking game that I was able to produce. This took time.

Second, When I first announced that I would be adding Icons to the package, I was planning on adding some 15 to 20 Icons, this would bring it on par with Utopia, and hopefully appease the people who felt they were short changed.  However the continued backlash of people saying that there file types were not included, made me paranoid. So I decided to make sure I was covering the baces, after 20 I just kept going. At this point I have around 120 unique file type icons, not including the rest of the pack, and the subfolders. Apogee is now the most complete package I have ever made. In the process I also create some 20 or 30 Bonus Icons that do not fit in the package, and will be available over in the miscellaneous Icons library for free.

I most say that as the one who spent his every spare moment for months creating the original Iconpackge, I felt that they were worth the price even before this update. I am sorry if you don’t agree.

This update will of coarse be free to anyone who already purchased Apogee.

For those of you who have been supportive on this issue, let me say thank you. I am grateful.

Paul, I can't speak for anyone but myself. And I thank you for sacrificing your time and amazing talent so a bunch of schmucks can have what they want. I have been using Apogee since the day it was released. The color variations make it usable with pretty much any theme I could imagine. It is quite simply the best icon package ever. And, knowing how tedious it is to make so many icons of such amazing detail and quality, I think this may be the single best ITEM available on WC or any other skinning site. The fact that it being updated with a ridiculous amount of file types makes me giddy. I greatly appreciate the work you did on this package, and the update, which I will be getting immediately upon release. Those of you being ungrateful should be ashamed of yourselves. You got 10 times more than your moneys worth with the initial release.

Let me also add to RPGFX's comment that I have been using Apogee icons since they were available for purchase. I have not had any issues while using them and appreciate all the hard work that went into creating them.

Looking forward to the update.
