ObjectDock under SP2

Hey Everybody,

hope somebody can help, I love ObjectDock but it´s driving me crazy after I bought a new computer with SP2 installed.

I have OD Plus installed, it works fine when windows starts, seems to work fine as long as I don´t use OD to close down ie Windows Explorer. (right click -> close) or use Show Desktop (not the desklet but the .vbs file I´ve created). Once I close any app using right click close OD doesn´t work any more. What happens is that any app I click on OD goes grey for half a second, but OD doesn´t react any more.

Well it does react, ie doesn´t crash, but what I get when I try to open ie Windows Explorer (OD shortcut which normally works) via OD is "Minimize All".

Does anybody know what do do. I´ve used OD, an earlier version´under SP1 and I never had any problems like this. Maybe I´m doing something wrong.

Please help

I have been running ObjectDock Plus on SP2 since it the plus version came out, and do not have any issue with closing a running task via the right-click menu.

Did you create the theme on the new machine, or copy a saved theme from the SP1 machine?

You might try the following:

Save the current theme > unload ObjectDock Plus > clear the cache by deleting the ObjectDock folder found in "C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Stardock" folder > restart ObjectDock Plus (it will load with the default settings) > load your saved theme via Dock Settings.

Note - you will need to go to "Folder Options\View tab" and select "Show hidden files and folders" if you do not see "Local Settings" folder in the address indicated above.

The minimize all issue may be related to your .vbs file in some way (perhaps remove this file to see if it is causing issues).

You also have the option of "Temporarily disable docklets" in the General category\Advanced options dialog, if you are running any docklets and want to troubleshoot.

That is all I have at the moment.

I can also confirm that SP2 is not a factor that affects OD+ IME.

I've been using them together since they were both released (i.e SP2 & OD+) with no problems.

Sounds like some sort of script-related problem. Since it's a new machine you may need to visit support.microsoft.com and download the windows script host and reinstall it. Just a guess...

Thanks Sir Bichur for providing the link.

I'm too slack to save them (I'll google every time) and too lazy to look it up for the post...
