Whether you're a current subscriber or not, what features of a subscription would make you more likely to subscribe?

WinCustomize subscriptions are currently $19.95 which last 1 year.  After that year, a user can renew for $19.95 which provides 2 additional years.

Subscriptions currently provide:

  • Access to the WinCustomize Premium Browser (program that is a front end to the overall site)
  • Two premium suites
  • Personal Pages (http://frogboy.wincustomize.com).
  • Personal Photo album storage
  • No advertismenets
  • Unlimited use of download bandwidth
  • Access to faster servers

What would be some good additions/changes to this do you think?

I agree there is a problem with the premium suites. I was extremely disappointed with the choices. I didn't feel they were mainstream enough, especially Kryponite (which incidentily shows an update as of March 2004. The other one is way old, 11/2003.
I didn't get the subscription for those suites anyway, but had wished I had got something more useful or at least something to choose from.
I subscribe to ODNT, so I do find being able to use SDC and then the Skin Browser within it is a benefit over the website. I find it far more accessible and easier to use than the website. Whenever I browse skins on the webside I find it far too difficult to see the newer skins, which is primarily what I am after.
Having unlimited bandwidth hasn't mattered to me as I do not believe I am a very high downloader.
In fact for me I primarily have subscribed in order to support the site as I enjoy the community and skins. I think it is up to those who continually refuse to subscribe to provide answers why they don't, at least other than financial reasons.

I haven't subscribed yet, but have bought Object Desktop, CursorXP Plus, ObjDock Plus & Dx Pro. For a while & didn't realize there was a distinction between StarDock & WinCustomize. I'm really happy with SD & WC, & have mixed feelings about not being a member because I understand that WC is intended to be a stand-alone company. There aren't any benefits I want beyond those that come with the software. I guess I'm trying to say I wish there was a discount for subscribing after spending so much for software.

I think 'discount for software owner' is really what the current price really reflects.  It's quite economical when compared with a 'similar' Deviantart.com sub.

For me....a sub should come with a hot Porsche and leggy blonde ....but I'll settle for a leggy Porsche and a hot blonde....don't want to be too picky...

I say you make a "premuim subscription" being about $10 - $20 more that offers unlimited premium suite downloads. But, I believe also in the more premi's for the current subscription. Maybe up it to 5.

Subscription suggestions:

- Re-new premium skin suites.
- Personal Messaging/Instant Messaging/Who's Online.
- Site skins/themes.
- More space in Personal Photo Album.
- More titles and awards.

It would be nice to receive a free game or two.

I do not know how it could be set up, but perhaps a way to allow access to one or two current games in the "Games" section of SDC - with no update allowed (or a 90 day free update allowance).

Since I am not a real gamer, I have not used this game system yet and do not know the actual logistics involved, but it might be a good enticement for people like myself who like to play games every so often.

Perhaps just a subscription to GalCiv2 included for the duration of the WC subscription or something?

Use Stardock Central....look in the options on the left side...about5 or 6 from the bottom is the Chat area. Oh wait, I just realized that you have to be a current customer to have SDC not necessarily a WC member.
