Personal Icon and Nickname meaning

Well I gotta tell ya, some of these personal icons are awesome. Jinn Fizz and Stupendous Man are two of my favorites. I'm interested in the meaning behind them. To some it just looks cool, to some there may be some history. Also, I think I know why BoXXi's is a box, but I don't know why he's BoXXi. What makes Corky_O Corky? Why does butch have a 123 and a motorcycle? What's a Jafo? Why did sbgFX kill the Spyder?

So if you got a minute, tell us why you chose your nickname and what, if anything, your icon represents.

I won't go first this time. Someone else.

I'm a driller on a drilling rig(the evil oil industry). Back in the old days they called the driller a drilling boss. My Avatar is a drilling rig burning a gas flare. The black back ground and the moon represent nighttime, that's the shift I work. The back ground in the outer ring is changeable for holidays and seasons, there will be a change in about 2 weeks(4th of July).

My son had a pet rat when this avi was picked. Too lazy to change it. Seldomseen Smith is a character from Monkeywrench Gang by Edward Abbey.

My icon has nothing to do with what I look like - I just grabbed the first one I found. I will probably change it as soon as I get inspired by something - I am of course open to suggestions - well except from either 2of3 or vStyler.

My name is from a little military stint I had - jumping out of airplanes at very low altitude and carrying logs and stuff.

this is an interesting thread so I think I'll drop my 0.02 cents, not as interesting a story as most posted here but it works...

- before I became a parent, I became a godfather (cue the godfather movie music in the background) to my best friend's daughter and she affectionately calls me (to this date) "Uncle Rob". Very simple story but the name has stuck with me to this date and it works well as far as I can tell.

- as for the pic/avatar, this part of the story has more sorrow in it.
You see... I was caught in massive gamma ray explosion which transformed me into the Hulk, a raging monster. My transformations are usually involuntary, and often triggered by strong emotions such as rage and fear. The truly sad part of this story is the amount of money I have to spend on clothing, you wouldn't believe how much money is wasted on clothing that gets ruined by my transformations into the hulk. Sure I can leap great distances, I'm virtually invulnerable and possess incredible (pardon the pun) strength and hey, it is a decent physique - I can't help but admire my shoulders & biceps/triceps (where's the beach?!). But hey, how many stores do you think stock those purple stretchy pants, the only reason I buy them is because they don't tear as badly as the rest of my clothing. And seriously, the pants are purple (not very masculine), my skin turns green (no, I'm not the jealous type), all in all it's not a great color combination (unless you happen to be working on an incredible hulk wb skin... hint, hint). And don't get me started on footwear, I have to practically buy a new pair of running shoes almost every day.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

My nickname is happy so hap from there and when I was making the profile that time I was reading about torque in physics' rotational motion chapter, So the term tork coined from there. But now I like it a lot because its unique without any symbol n numbers and moreover its my identity over internet.

I got the nickname killajosh a few years back from my girlfriend. I had some anger-management issues, and when ever something would set me off she'd say "easy, killa". The avatar was something I came up with playing around one day. The actual full-sized pic it came from is the "KJ" imposed on top of a burning planet.

When I fist joined WC my nick was t.h.(=my initials Timothy Howe).

After the last WinCustomize update, I was informed that it was an invalid nick - no periods allowed in a nick, so I change it to 2of3.

2of3 because I'm second born of 3!

An Homage to 7of9 who is the sexiest Borg in any quadrant!

You see... I was caught in massive gamma ray explosion which transformed me into the Hulk, a raging monster.

No biggie about my nick....I love jazz music, and got stuck with being called jazzy by many friends! The last three letters are my initials.

The avatar: I love purple and butterflies!

If you don't know the meaning of my nick, you've either lived a sad, sad life in front of the PC, or you've just arrived from a the different planet....

Why I use it:
I got it from my alltime favorite movie Smokie and the Bandit.
I see those of you knowing the movie, nodding and go 'aaaha. ok'

For those who don't know the movie (whatch it, damn it!!)
In the movie there's a trucker. His charactername i Cleetus Snow aka Snowman
Back in my young(er) days, I used to be freeking crazy about trucks, big rigs, anything with more than 10 wheels had my attention (Heck, I still wet my pants whenever I hear an old Scania "boot up")
So what more natural for me to do when I had to pick an online username but to pick 'Snowman'.
Been hanging on to it for well over 10 years now

is my forumpost 'footprint'

(Surfing snowman) has been my avatar since before 'Jafo was a laddy'

I love weather.

Everyone who knows me always ask the question. Whats the weather going to be today or is it going to snow today ect....

I added the Bound because I am always looking for interesting weather.

Weather is one thing humans have no control over.

My original Avatar was a picture of a tornado in the fields. but has changed to my current one do to a post in the forums on Avatars.

My new Avatar is me looking through the window at the Lightning storm.

There for WeatherBound
