I have a real neato idea. Why don't ALL of you who are involved in the latest flame war take your beefs off JU? The rest of us are sick and tired of you people airing your dirty laundry every goddamn day. Play your childish namecalling game somewhere else because quite frankly the rest of us could give a shit about your drama. Do you have so little in your lives that this is how you handle things? Making yourselves look like a bunch of idiots? Well that's what you people are doing. How about blacklisting? You people ever hear of that? Try it. You might find it works.

Ya know, i am almost longing for the days of november when we had quite the war going on. At least then we had legitimate beefs to flame each other over. This shit nowadays is just pathetic and ALL of you should be ashamed of yourselves for acting like this. Are you not adults? Do you not have the skills to deal with each other as such?

Why should it cause a Shit storm?  Why dont you address the root of the problem?

Why do you have to post profanity just to make a point that needs not be made?

I think you should follow your own advice.  Less profanity would have been a lot more powerful.

Well Guy,

First of all i don't care what the problem is. JU is not for personal beefs. Beefs on legitimate issues i totally understand. Like when you and i disagree over something. That's acceptable to me because we both make our points and dodge and parry accordingly. That's what i love about JU.

What has been going on as of late has no business here. It belongs offline. I have enough drama in my life away from here that i really don't want to hear about all this. What sucks is that the issue is between bloggers that i like and respect (that is up until now) People who know better. They are not using their heads and gettting sucked into the drama.

And as far as profanity goes. Thats what i do when i get upset. I'm no choirboy. If you can't deal...then don't read!

I guess in the end the thing that bugs me the most is that these people are smarter than this, and they are definately wasting their time, effort, and Brad's bandwidth.

I read the whole counter point, and I do agree with it somewhat.  I think I came off more of the 'father hen' with my statement about the profanity, but I was just trying to say that righteous anger is never bad, but when you resort to profanity, while it sure helps the soul, does not accentuate the point.

I agree with you.  But I tend to 'think twice and write once'.

if you could be more specific, I could be more forthcoming. I was asking what the root is.  If you know, I would love to know.  I was asking him. I still dont know.  But there have been many blogs of late saying the 'problem'.  Guess I am just not on enough to see there is a real problem.

No offense, just 'Old Dr Guy' trying to give some worldly advice.  That may or not be valid.  I know we all use it.  I was raised an army brat and can cuss out the best of them!  in 4 languages no less!  But I do try to limit it in my conversations and posts.  In order to get the point across without the anger.

I agree totally with this article. I don't really have much of a clue of what's going on, and I don't really want to. What I have come across, just through clicking on articles isn't very nice at all. This site is a great place to be, full of intelligent, interesting adults. Adults is the key word there, why does it feel like we are back at school at times?

The root of the problem is people that refuse to let go... and I have, and haven't been guilty of that.

People refuse to let go and insist on going on about it. This causes not only anger and frustration, but also annoyance. Certain bloggers don't seem to realize that...or perhaps they just don't care, and are concerned only about points, and popularity. They are making fools of themselves though. They don't see that.

The way that you phrased that caused me to get a bit defensive...and I am sorry. Everything has been blown way out of proportion, and it has my defences up a bit...especially since the comment came from you...no offence. You want an explianation...then I will tell you...in a more private way. Enough crap has been said publically.

I can't help but think it does need to be made. I have lost a lot of respect for some folks around here lately. A lot. Enough to remove their blogs from my sidebar (and personally, I only change who I link to in my sidebar if I am serious. If someone is there it means I respect them a lot and like to read them. If I go to the effort of removing them that signifies a drastic loss of respect for them).

It is sad to see some I really care for acting in such childish and pathetic ways. And it is telling to see some I was suspect about showing their true colors.

Hemingway defined courage as grace under pressure. Apparently we have a lot of cowards here lately.
