NEW CRITICAL BUGS FOUND WITH RESIZING THE TASKBAR!!

MORE FEATURES MORE ISSUES!! -Chief

So, I got bored and resized the taskbar to triple height now the entire taskbar is blank! Disabling "allow resize taskbar" did not reset its height to single and the only way to now use the taskbar at all is to disable the option to "allow start11 to enhance the taskbar" Restarting explorer sets the height to normal for 1 second then it goes back to triple then it's all blank and not resizable.

Help!!

Which version of Start11 are you using?

1.2 release version.

After 4 attempts I was able to resize the task bar in time, but this is still an issue.

If you have more than two monitors and the main one is to the right of at least one monitor and run displayfusion or have the taskbar only set to show on one monitor then you need to update to 1.21 as it fixes the blank taskbar.

I guess you don't remember me from the other day, but I only have 2 monitors, don't run any display software, and my taskbar is set to show on both screens..... so none of that applies to me. Is the new verson only on the website?

IM ON A ROLL WITH FINDING NEW BUGS: With the new taskbar enhancements using the new windows 11 snipping tool (for online classes) I can open it and it appears in the taskbar but when I make a new snip it disappears from the taskbar. I have to alt tab to find it again then it re appears in the taskbar. Worked fine with start11 before the "taskbar enhancements" update so something is broken with that.

hope to here from you

In an attempt to separate release builds from beta builds Stardock has been putting their beta builds of start 11 under your "my downloads" link. There is a newer beta build that has addressed several critical bugs already. More information on the beta build can be found here

I don't know if it's the new software verson or the system restart but snipping tool behaved correctly for one screen capture, but I tried re launching it and now it is acting up again. Still broken.

EDIT: Sadly, another issue with the task bar enhancement I have discovered: the right click sub menu for volume in windows 11 to open the volume mixer etc. are not clickable!! This update just was simply not ready. Where the mouse is and where the UI thinks it is are not aligned. This is with latest 1.21 Bata.

I was able to reproduce this. For me it works probably 9 times out of 10 before it disappears.

Lucky you I only get it once then broken, this and volume right click menu in windows 11 not being clickable make the task bar enhancement not useable. I'm guessing your still on windows 10 (cuz most people are) but if you're on 11 can you test the volume right click sub menu and see if you can open the volume mixer with taskbar enhancements enabled?

One strange detail I remember is with Saints Row 4 I tried to alt tab out to lower volume and the taskbar that's normally on the bottom moved to the top of the screen and glitched out, from there I noticed I could not use the right click sub menu to lower volume with taskbar enhancements enabled. So, it's possible a game broke Part of Start11...which is...interesting.

thanks!

I am on Windows 11, I have been a pretty early adapter myself. As for the volume mixer, right clicking actually is working for me. I am on a one screen setup so there is always that variable.

One thing that I have seen in my time here is that sometimes new installs have trouble installing correctly over several older installs. One fix all has been to Uninstall start 11 reboot and then install the latest update again. It could fix it especially if a game is the cause.

Uninstalled/Reinstalled (kept settings) still same issue. If the user had to reinstall every time they come across a program that breaks Start11 that would be terrible. New taskbar is just broken right now for some configs.
