Fences 4 issue - fences change size

Hi, I've had an issue with Fences for a long time, that I hoped would be fixed in Fences 4, but hasn't been.

Windows 11 running Fences 3.9.8.56, used on my laptop, with 3 different screen setups :

1) laptop with inbuilt FHD 1920 x 1080 screen (@hotel),

2) laptop (lid closed) with Dell D6000 USB dock + 2 x FHD screens 1920 x 1080 (@work),

3) laptop (lid closed) with Dell D6000 USB dock + 3 x QHD screens 2560 x 1440 (@home).

I have "Store my fences positions on a per-screen-resolution basis" selected.

My issue is that the fences change size randomly.

I spend time adjusting the size and location of my fences, with a small (eg 5 pixel) border from the fences to the screen edge and between fences. But randomly (every day or two) the fences adjust themselves and can move, overlap, or change size. Sometimes while connected to the same screen setup, other times when I change screen setup eg move from work to home.

It's very annoying to have to continually keep resetting the fences back to how I want them.

Is there any way of making them stick ?

Also, I have another issue that I'll post separately.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Have you try to create and save a specific layout snapshot for each of that 3 setups? So that you can load that saved layout for each setup.

Thanks

Thanks for your quick reply.

Yes, sometimes it restores correctly from a snapshot, and sometimes it doesn't.

But surely I shouldn't have to do that - it should detect my screen setup and restore it correctly.

How often is 'sometimes'?

There is such an option:

Thanks Steve, regarding your comments above :

1) How often is 'sometimes'?

"Sometimes" is probably 50% of the time the fences don't restore correctly when I change between screen setups.

2) There is such an option:

As per my original post above I already have "Store my fences positions on a per-screen-resolution basis" selected.

My issue is that my screen layouts either aren't being stored correctly, or aren't being restored correctly when I move from one screen setup to another.

Any other ideas ?
