Start11 Task Bar Restart

Howdy:

I have the Start11 v1.0 (paid version). It works fairly well for the most part. However over time the taskbar (which I have at the top) shifts downward approx 1/2" (32" monitor) and overlaps any window I might have open, covering that windows toolbar. When this occurs I have to "restart" Windows Explorer via Task manager to correct/reset Start11 toolbar position.

The 2nd issue is, on my 2nd monitor, for me to access the Start11 toolbar I must right the top area of the monitor for the toolbar to appear.

And 3rd but of no concern to me. If you mouse over the Windows Start icon, the icon changes from an icon to the word Start. Left/Right clicking results in nothing. :typo:

Are these reported issues and will they be corrected or should I just call it a day and order beer n pizza for dinner?

Thanks

Bill

How many monitors and on what one if more than 1?

Are you using any monitor management software (DisplayFusion, etc)? If so, try with it disabled?

If the taskbar is left at the bottom, do you see an issue?

I have 2 monitors and via Windows have the taskbars set to both monitors and to auto hide.

I do not run Displayfusion. I'm running native nVidia software v496.76 on a RTX 2080ti with dual 32" S3220DGF monitors.

I don't like the taskbar at the bottom, hence my positioning Start11 taskbar at the top.

Nvidia surround perhaps?  In any case, if you could disable (lasting past reboot) it for a spell, reboot, we would be interested to know if the issue presists.

Nvidia surround perhaps?

No. I run a Creative Sound Blaster Z card. All other audio is disabled.

Will give the reboot a go and let ya know how it goes

Thanks for your time

Nvidia Surround is actually a video feature they have...

My apologies, I was reading that as a equipment audio question, monitors, video, onboard audio chips etc. No, I do not have "Span displays with Surround" enabled.

To answer your early suggestion; I disabled and rebooted. All was fine for a while, then the taskbar would not auto hide. I had to restart Windows Explorer via task manger. The taskbar on the 2nd monitor does not appear when I mouse over the area. I have to left click the area to activate it to appear.

That would indicate that the cursor is not registering as having transitioned to the 2nd monitor (or Start11 is not seeing that it has).

The taskbar not popping up on secondary monitors when in autohide mode is something I believe happens without Start11 on Windows 11 as well.

During my very short time using Win 11, I didn't have a problem with the taskbar on my 2nd monitor. Installing Start11 is when I began having the above mentioned issues.

That's not to say Win 11 didn't have that problem, I just didn't notice it. I remember Win 10 at launch had an awful problem with the taskbar in general on multiple monitors.

I'm not worried though with the Start11 app, for 7 bucks it works really well and support has been very receptive.
