I Found a few major bugs in start 11

Can anyone help me with a fix

I have found i few bugs that range from a mild annoyance to deal-breaking i don't suppose anyone else has them to and know of a fix

1. start 11 keeps hiding the start menu randomly for no apparent reason e.g when windows first start and apps are opening in the background the start menu will close even though the app hasn't been launched from the start menu

2. start 11 randomly keeps making windows explorer crash and the taskbar/start menu returns to stock for a brief moment I've noticed this happens once or twice a day

3. I use windows magnifier due to poor sight and use the standard shortcut to open the magnifier witch is windows key + and windows key - however, when i use this shortcut it will now open the windows search menu as well as magnifying the screen this only happens when start 11 is installed and is not an issue on the stock windows start menu this is really really annoying and is a deal-breaker for me as it is constant and i have to use windows magnifier

please can someone help me fix it dont make me use the stock menu

During startup applications may steal focus away from the menu.  This will cause the menu to close as focus has been lost to the newly opened applications.  This is simply how Windows works.

On the crash issue, are you sure it is Start11 causing the crash and not something else?  What are you doing at the time with the computer?

On the third issue I was unable to reproduce this, the magnifier enables and disables without a problem.  I notice you mentioned the Windows search menu opens, did you mean search menu or start menu?

Finally are you running Windows 10 or Windows 11?

Hi

with the magnification issue open the start menu first and whilst it’s open give the magnify command and it should happen this is a common way someone with sight loss would do it so we know the start menu has opened before enlarging the screen

with the explorer crash issue there is no correlation I could be working or doing nothing and yeah it might not be start 11 at all but with start 11 running it’s a lot more noticeable as the explorer switches to stock for a brief moment as a consumer I would first blame start 11 because it looks like start 11 is crashing even though it might not be

and with the closing issue it must just be more apparent to the user when start 11 is running maybe we are just meticulously judging our new purchase

Aha, I see whats up now.

You have it set to not use Start11 search, so any keypresses when Start11 is open will trigger Windows Search.

For now if you let it use Start11 search it will avoid that problem, but I will see what we can do to stop that hotkey triggering it too.
