The FDF file extension does not show up in my file extensions list, so I suppose I uninstalled it correctly. Do you have any idea why Windows would assign it or if there might be a setting somewhere I could change to correct it? I can't believe I'm the only one having this problem

Hey, I must have been writing while you were. WBA file extensions open with WindowBlinds.

Is a windowblind skin download one of the files that came up FDF?

...and was it that ext before you unzipped it?

Yes, in fact, the WindowBlind program had it and I renamed it excluding the FDF extension, which is not recommended, but it worked.

I've downloaded several cursorXP skins, and all of them have it.

I unzip with Winzip. Is there something better?

Wow..I think you might have entered into the twilight zone Download another WB skin, unzip it and right click and change 'always open this file type with' and click OK. Download another one and see if it works.

Do the same thing before you unzip the file just in case it is that (point to winzip exe)...although winzip should be ok. Might want to try 'Object Zip' in SDC

Okay, I just downloaded a windowblind skin. It was not zipped and when I clicked to open it, I received the error message:
"Windows cannot open this file. To open this file, Windows needs to know what program created it..."

Great....point to "C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\WindowBlinds\wbload.exe"

...a WB skin not zipped..hummmmmmmmmm

Okay, that worked for that one and I'm downloading another one. It's taking longer and is probably zipped.

After shutting down and rebooting, I was able to open that file too. It wasn't zipped either, and when I clicked it, it automatically installed it. Hopefully I can do the same with other skins as well. Thank you very much for your time and help with my problem. Karen
