fdf file extensions

where are you dling them from? here?

Found this: Forms Data Format (FDF) is a format for handling forms within PDF documents. You should read the documentation at http://partners.adobe.com/asn/developer/acrosdk/forms.html for more information on what FDF is and how it is used in general.

Yes, I've downloaded them from here. I've checked file extension lists and the information I've found doesn't seem to apply to the types of files I'm downloading.

Just clicked on the link you provided, I haven't seen that page before. I do have Acrobat Reader on my system now, but it still doesn't recognize the fdf extension.

I saw some information about IBM attaching the extention to some downloaded files, but no info about what you have to have to open them.

Meanwhile, I've tried renaming them without the fdf extension and some seem to work well, and the ones that didn't extracted files as separate files.

Any input is appreciated, and thanks for your reply.

What files you are downloading?

He probably got a file inadvertently uploaded with a skin created in Photoshop.....

Yes, I just tried it twice. Both times I received an error message, Sorry for the inconvenience, but IE has encountered and error and must close." But, I just had another thought. I use a download accelerator, Free Download Accelerator. I'll research that next. Thanks for your help. Karen

What version of Acrobat Reader do you have installed?

Hummmm just a thought....do you have the programs that these files need to work?

No...actually you're on the right track (gulp)....she needs version 6.0 installed and her file extensions appear to be wacked or she doesn't have the proggies installed.....

Me too. If you're referring to WindowBlinds, Cursor XP, Logon Studio, Icon Packager, et cetera, yes, I do have those programs. Some of the files I've downloaded don't have the .fdf extension, some do. Lately, everything I've downloaded does. Also, I intended to uninstall Acrobat Reader and it doesn't show up in my list. I may have uninstalled it when I upgraded to XP.

If .FDF shows in Folder Options/ File Extensions (open with Adobe) then it's not uninstalled properly....or something along the line re-installed it for you

Karen- go to control panel/folder options/file types and scroll down to WBA ext. What is it set to 'open with'?
