Start 10 will not shutdown PC

Have to press OFF button for a hard shutdown

from Stardock Forums

If I click shutdown from the Start menu my screen goes black, my HDD light stops flickering but the PC On light stays lit and I have to push the OFF button for a Hard shutdown. Please help

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know more on your system.

  1. Windows version, please use Windows Winver.exe for full version numbers.
  2. Start10 version.
  3. Will the system shutdown if you use Normal Windows 10 Menu Shut down?

Does the same thing happen if you right click on the start button and pick shutdown... and from the window that appears picks shutdown?

Right clicking and then choosing shutdown I get the same result

In that case it sounds like it isn't a problem with how Start10 is shutting down the computer as thats a Windows dialog.

Unfortunately the problem is more likely to be driver level and not something we can really assist with :(
