Groupy trial installation

Hi,

I'm a long-time Stardock user (starting with Start8 when Windows 8 released).

I'm currently using the most-up-to-date versions of Start10, ObjectDock and ShadowFX (I know it's a legacy product, but I love having it).

Today, I decided to try out Groupy. I d/l'd the current trial version from Stardock, ran it as an admin. It installed with no issues.

After correctly following the procedure to start the 30-day trial (entered email, got the activate email, activated it), it won't let me use it.

When I try to use Groupy, I am getting the message that my product code has expired and only giving me the option to purchase one or input one. (???)

I only just installed it today as a 30-day trial-ware.

NB: I uninstalled Groupy, used Revo Uninstaller Pro 4 to remove any install/program remnants. Re-booted, then re-installed Groupy--same issue.

Groupy seems like an excellent piece of software that will fit my current needs perfectly, but I want to try it out for a day or two before buying it; to be certain it's what I want.

Please help.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues.

Can we check a little more info please?

Version of Windows ( full number version ) use winver.exe for that

Other version you downloaded Groupy and Start 10 ?

Can you post a screenshot of the error message .

Hi,

Thank you for the reply.

The information you requested:

Windows 10 Pro, Version 2004, Build 19041.572

Groupy v1.44

My other Stardock programs are paid, fully functioning programs (I've had them all for years as paid programs, not trial ware) and are not being affected.

Only the 30-day trial version of Groupy installed today is not letting me use it.

Interesting to note: my other PC which is running Windows 10 Pro, running the same build, is having the same issue with Groupy. My other Stardock programs on that PC--okay; Groupy not.

Hello,

I have forwarded your report to the Stardock support team for their review and recommendations.

Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates.

We really do appreciate your feedback, thanks.

Also do you own Stand alone apps from Stardock or did you buy them as a OD subscription

and if so when ?

Hi,

I will look out for additional updates. Thank you. You help is much appreciated.

As previously mentioned, I own (purchased) and use Start10, ObjectDock and ShadowFX on both of my Win 10 Pro PCs.

I purchased all of the above separately several years ago. They are all updated to the most-current versions and are working fine.

Never had any issues with any of my Stardock software (except today with Groupy).

Very happy with them all.

**** UPDATE ***

I was able to solve the issue.

I simply decided to purchase Groupy, and not fool around trying to get the trial version to work.

I uninstalled (again) Groupy, used Revo to clean out any remnants that Groupy's uninstaller left behind, re-installed Groupy (the file found in My Downloads after I purchased it) entered my product key, and . . . voila! it works.

If I don't like it, then 4.99USD is not a heavy loss for me.

Although, I doubt that I won't like it. I am very happy with Start10, ObjectDock and ShadowFX.

And in the few minutes I've used Groupy so far, I like it.

Thank you for your time and effort with this issue.

It is definitely appreciated.
